I have been a wreck for at least the last week. I have had a lot of pain in my abdomen, intestinal cramping and burning.and I have been an emotional wreck. I have kept my smile through most of this untill now. My smile is back this afternoon and I think I will keep it. I went to onc who did my surgery today.(not my reg onc in charge of chemo) and he looked over ct reports and petscan reports and told me it's not that much worse and he told me he thinks a lot of my pain is stress pain. sounds craxy doesn't it. on the way to my apt this am I was at a pain level of probably 6 and now back home maybe a 1. anyway he reccomened the doxil also. and I found out on the clinical trial I was only on the avastin for cycle 2 -6 with my carbo/taxol. wich is a great releif to me that I have been on a placebo since november. #1 I can use avastin in the future if needed and #2 now that I'm off the trial I won't be fearful that it was keeping things in check. I still have a few concerns. one is my pet scan report says that it is extensivly in the liver but the ct scan doesn't show it in the liver much so who knows. I have an apt with reg onc monday and we will talk about doxil and maybe start soon and my husband has a few more apts for 2nd opinions to ease our minds further. hugs and prayers, Laura

    Glad your pain is less
Stress is one of the biggest things to make people sick. I had bad stomach problems when younger in 20s and thats what caused it, had to do with my job. But anyway I hope all is well now Laura.

I agree with Sandy, stress is bad.I'm glad to see you ended up smiling today.

The thing I find the most frustrating, and I'm sure you can relate to this, is the confusion of what to do next.
People suggest things to eat, not eat, drink, not drink, things to try, and you find your head swimming.

Then there's where to go for other opinions, or do you totally trust your current oncologist who literally has your life in his hands. Is he making the best suggestions regarding treatment? Or is there a better chemo treatment which will be a better choice to prolong our lives, or give us a better quality of life.

It's confusing, and frustrating. Like I keep saying to my husband, "you only get one chance to get this thing right."
We hope that's exactly what we're doing, but it's a knife through the heart to hear that we'll probably never be off chemo, or there's possibly (or probably) a time line for us.

Hang in there, thankfully we have so much support from the ladies sharing this horrible disease with us. I never realized how important that is.
    Hugs and Prayers,
    Terry

Hi Laura, I think everyone here can relate to how we worry sometimes with any new pain. Sometimes it's from adhesions, sometimes from anxiety, sometimes just normal like people who have never had cancer.

I have to tell you my Doc doesnt' think petscans are that great for ovarian cancer. I have had two of them in 6 years but he says they give a lot of false positive readings for ovarian cancer. You know sugar in our bodies light up too .. hope that helps ease your mind.

    Prayers ♥ Hugs Bonnie

Remember prayer gives God your worries. :-)

    Hugs for info
Terry you are right what should we believe in what we should do. Of course God is the only real healer. We do what we find works I guess. I was told sugar is bad for cancer patients but don't take the substitutes they are chemicals Eat this dont eat that. ahhhh. When I asked the oncologist he said Sandy eat what you want just dont eat a lot of one thing. Get your fruits and veggies in but if you crave something eat it. I am borderline diabetic meaning I can control it with what I dont eat or whatever. Catscans I may have one a year or every two years just two see what size. Thanks Bonnie for that info I didnt know that. Every little bit of info gives hope.

    thanks guys
I do like this one book called anti-cancer it has a lot of good ideas in it. it seems like I want to do everything different than b-4 cancer. I was takeing a whole bunch of vitamins b-4 and I ate a lot of sugar and processed foods. so now I do oposite. I feel like it doesn't hurt me not to eat sugar, fake sugar or processed foods and who knows maybe it will help. I eat a lot of high nutrient foods, brocolli, kale, chard, miatakeand shitake mushrooms, blueberries, etc. it just makes sense to me that if anything it would be helpful. but who knows anyway I feel about exactly like terry as far as what to do next. but i gotta say terry remember we all have a time-line with or without cancer and if we can just struggle along a few more years I beleive they will come out with something fantstic that will help us all. just think about all the new stuff in just the last few years. God is in control even though I sometimes I for get or struggle to let him have control. thankyou bonnie about the pet scan I am not going to worry about it. I guess what is is and what isn't isn't.worry doesnt help in any way shape or form. wish I could keep that in my head all the time too.anyway I guess I better quit rambling. God bless and Hugs , Laura
