surgery on the 2/26/09
My husband was just told he has RCC a 10 cin tumor that may have spread to lungs (in the chest x ray they saw swollen lympnodes) we are scared to death. I also just lost my job so there is a lot of stress. My sister had her kidney removed 8 years ago and she is doing fine today! Please say a prayer for my husband bill that it is contained and has not spread. My prayers are with everyone on this sight its a hard road to go down.
Thanks,
Linda

Hi Linda,
I'm sorry to hear
Hi Linda,
I'm sorry to hear about your husbands dx, and the job loss, the loss of a job at a time like this is really hard. I want to tell you I will be praying for you and your husband.
I was dx'x with stage 4 papillary type 2 on august 17, 2008. I have multiple lymph nodes involved, spots on my liver, and now it may be in my spine. I had my left kidney and adreanal gland, galblader and a bunch of nodes removed. They had to clean out my infearer vena cava, the tumor was traveling to my heart. All that was on sept 29 08. It's a scary thing to go through. Please do as much research as you can on this, it may scare you, but in the end it will help you. As they say 'knowledge is power'. But as you do your research please don't get wrapped up in the statistics they are just general numbers and everyone is different. I was give 6 to 12 months and I am officially passed the 6 month mark. I think I am doing pretty well.
Did they do a ct scan? or an mri? That would give them a better idea as to weather it spread, the exrays showed I have granulomas in the lungs, which the ct scan confirmed were not mets. Also how did it get dx'd? And hows he feeling? Please know that you and your husband are not alone on this journey, and I will be praying for you both, I'll pray that it has not spread, and that god will give you the strength to deal with everything you have going on. Please let me know how you are doing.
God Bless

Thoughts are with you today
Linda,
Assuming the surgery is still scheduled for tomorrow, know that I will be thinking of you and Bill. My tumor and kidney were removed 4 weeks ago today and I am doing fantastic, all things considered. Do you know any more about the involvement of the lungs and lymph nodes?
The night before the surgery was a difficult one for my husband and me. (We've been married not quite a year and a half and were already facing some frightening health issues.) Because I am one to handle such stresses by cleaning, organizing, planning, etc., it was a very busy day. But night time saw us facing the reality ahead. Unable to pray through our fears (i.e., tears), we asked our dearest friends to pray with/for us (at 10:30pm!). Their presence and prayers were incredibly sustaining. I hope that today you and Bill are able to find yourselves doing those things that are most life-giving with those who can support you best.
Blessings,

Thank you so much for your encouragement! And i am praying for you and your continued good health. God is my strength by His grace we are getting through this. I am confident that it will turn out well. As far as the lungs go we do not know yet to what extent we hope to know all by tomorrow. Thank you again for your well wishes and God bless you!

Thanks, Linda. I appreciate your prayers. I will look forward to hearing the prognosis if/when you would like to share. Blessings on you both on this day of preparation, on Bill and the doctors as they go through surgery tomorrow, and on Bill especially as he spends the next few weeks recovering. I also wish you the presence and comfort of good friends as you wait through the surgery.0
