Well, it has finally happened...
Had mastectomy, eight rounds of chemo and 28 rounds of radiation. Never in a million years thought I would make it to the end. But I did! I keep thinking...ta-dah!!
Now all that remains is for the radiation burns to heal, hair to grow back and finger nails to be replaced.
What will I do with all of my spare time now?? Probably some house cleaning..lol!
Anyway, just wanted you to know that I made it through. And I sincerely appreciate all of the support from everyone here!
Hugs to all!
CR

Awesome
So happy for you CR!
I'm sure you can find something more relaxing to do than clean your house!!! I finished my rads in August and my Herceptin in December....and I still haven't cleaned my house . BUT a friend had Merry Maids come out yesterday...WOW!!! That was a treat. It's like I finally turned a corner on my road to recovery.0 -

Congratulations, CR, on the completion of your treatment. I know you are relieved to have this phase behind you, and look forward to better days. Just take your time getting back to "normal", whatever that may be. I felt that when I finished my last radiation treatment, the next day would be a wonderful uphill step, only to find that I needed more time to really get over the effects of all of the chemicals and rads that filled my body. It has been three months, and just this last week did I begin to feel somewhat back in the groove. We had moved across country just before I was diagnoised, and boxes filled my garage until just this past few weeks. Valentine's Day will mark the one year anniversary of the biopsy that started me on this long journey. Again, congratulations on reaching this milestone, and keep us up to date on your progress. Hugs to you.

CONGRATS!!!
Welcome to the "you can't scare me club"!! I finished chemo in Sept, rads in Nov, and feel like that poster of Rosie the riveter (I think Claudia aka Chenheart aka the 50 foot woman had her as her avatar for awhile). She's the woman flexing her muscle.
I've found my priorities have changed for the better. Most things are like little irritations---I swat them away like mosquitos, and focus on the important things now.
Enjoy life---you've definitely earned it!0
