    that can happen
    Hi,

While it didn't happen to me, it did happen to my friend who was also dealing with rectal cancer. During radiation, she had chunks of what seemed to be flesh with blood vessels in it. Yes, your tumor can dissolve and come out like this during radiation. Definitely let your radiation oncologist and regular oncologist know. Maybe even fish some out of the toilet, put it in a baggy, and show them if it happens again. I would interpret that as good news- getting that tumor out of there!!

My guess would be that it
My guess would be that it was probably mucus. It normally coats the lining of the intestine to protect it from stomach acids, etc. and a piece sloughed off. I'd definitely tell your doctor about it though. ... Carl
