Nodules
Nodules can be many things. I had some nodules show up on my later CAT scans that haven't grown or changed. My doctor believes that they may be results of my surgery. Another one may be a problem in the future (a tiny ground-glass nodule he says), but for now it is small and unchanging so he is not worried. If that spot changes, he will suggest I lose more lung. More surgery, maybe chemo!!! Yuck! I'm not looking forward to that but I know I will do what I have to do when and if that time comes. Your nodule(s) may be a problem or maybe not. If something IS there in your lung, it needs to be explored. That is why they are hopping on it right away. If it turns out to be nothing, you will be glad that it was a false alarm. If it turns out to be a problem, you can start problem solving right away. For now, try to remember that it is not cancer til they see it under a microscope. And remember, not all nodules are cancer.0 -

surgeon says nothing to worry about. Apparently the radiologist compare ct scan with pet scan not to ct scan before surgery. Thank God I am cancer free.0 -

Thanks for sharing the good news! It sounds like time for a celebration dinner and a happy dance!!! Guess it goes to show that we should take a deep breath and get everything checked and double checked at least once when things seem scary. Your story makes me glad that my surgeon asks for my new AND my old CAT scans every time I come in. (He says he trusts the radiologists and their reports from my local hospital--but only so far!).

That is what my surgeon asked for. Both scans one before surgery and new one. It makes me truely appreciate what it takes to be a reputable surgeon.0
