a happy day
Today I got my first haircut since chemo and losing my hair! Words cannot express how happy I felt to go to a salon, and my hair looks better now that the stylist cut and shaped it. She also told me to come every week for awhile and she would come my hair to stimulate the follicles.
Anyway, just wanted to share my happiness. I'm sure you all must have felt the same way when you got your first haircuts?
Hugs,
Ohilly

It feels like you're on the
It feels like you're on the mend now doesn't it. Finally to start putting the experience behind you bit by bit. When I saw your title I just had to check in and let you know how happy I am that you are now getting back to "normal". Thought it would never come, right??
Congratulations on this milestone and may you have many more.

Singing with you, Ohilly!
I remember my first haircut. My dad took me on his motorcycle to my grandpa's barber shop. My grandpa cut my fringes for free. His hand was shaking the whole time. Did I mention that he's 83!!!
I would LOVE to see pics of your new haircuts.. What a survivor! I will post a pic of me and my wig. I took another wig to my beautition to cut and style and we gave up before we were half way through..with tears in her eyes she said this just isn't Jackie and pulled it off. She said she would NOT let me wear it!!! the other one is ok but somehow it never is you i suppose until you get your own God-given hair back. So i decided to "buck up buttercup" because I can't hide forever, and need to get out.
O happy day is right I am celebrating with you!! P.S. my son went with me and had his buzzed.. not a bit tramatic for guys i guess?
God bless

So very happy for you. It's the little things that can bring us such joy.

Congratulations, Happy for you to get your first haircut. My husband cut mine and shaved my head last night because mine was falling out so rapidly, and my head was killing me. I still didn't sleep well last night but at least my head didn't hurt.
GOD BLESS YOU.

My first buzz
I went to my hairstylist when I knew my hair would fall out and she cut it in the cutest cut. Then she didn't charge me. When it really started shedding, I went back to get it buzzed and again she buzzed it for free. She is such a kind person. It was unsettling for me at first; I felt like I looked like a concentration camp victim. Friends and family started giving me the most beautiful hats and scarves and complimenting me and that lifted my spirits. Now I have chemo curl. With help, we really do survive. I am happy for your happy day. Lynn0 -

Hey Ohilly.........It's something we all look forward to but never think will happen..........Good for you...Light at the end of the tunnel DOES exist after all. You have inspired me to go and get styled.....but just LOOK at me.......pity the poor hairdresser, she'll charge me at least double...Thanks Ohilly. Hugs J xx0 -

Moopy,
Not only do you have a lovely smile, you have the most beautiful eyes. I honestly did not notice how pretty they are in your picture with hair. Not to say that they weren't lovely but they were not the focus as they are now. You might just find that after your hair comes back you will want to keep it short and pixish and let those eyes stand out. Not everyone can carry off very short hair but I have a feeling that you can. You are just darling. And the dog is bad either, nor is the hubby.

Stef, my mom always used to say I had beautiful eyes. They were always hidden behind glasses, but when I would feel down about wearing glasses when the other kids didn't, mom would say she could see my big blue eyes. Your post made me teary for a good reason. I am overwhelmed by the kindness I have found here. I really believe I may make it through this, with your help and all of my good friends in pink.
(As for the boy pack, they are not so bad, true. Just a little barky now and then!0 -

My daughter began wearing glasses at a very young age and she also had beautiful eyes. She too thought that the glasses hid them but beautiful eyes shine through no matter what. When she was in junior high she switched to contacts but as she got older she used her glasses more and the contacts less. She still uses the contacts but she realizes that she is a beauty with or without the glasses. ANd you are too. Moms don't lie.
