Thanks for giving me courage to have my husband buzz my hair (after he also read all your posts. I actually felt better to have it done. My headache quit.. and the anxiety of when it would all go...This made me feel as if i DO have some control. My head feels a little chilly so i'm wearing a little cap but sleeping Naked on top feels good since hot flashes are still occuring. This too shall pass....................Thank you all for listening and all of your support!!
P.S. tomorrow is my 2nd chemo treatment, wish me luck that it will go as good as the 1st!!

    You are more than welcome! I remember that after my b/f buzzed my head ( while I bawled like a baby, thank you very much!) the aching scalp stopped instantly! My b/f is Native American, and has thick, long, braided hair, so we definitely changed sides, follically speaking! LOL

    But that was then, this is now! I need regular haircuts, need to shave and wax, etc etc. My pretty eyebrows did not come in as nicely as before, but I DID get a moustache! I tell ya, the humility lessons just keep on coming! ROFL

    The Moopster just left 15 minutes ago for her "Look Good Feel Better" meeting. She still has all her hair on this morning of Day 19, but she is doing much better with the prospect of losing it - thanks to the support of the Pink Sisterhood on this wonderful web forum.

    I wish i had a "look Good Feel Better" in my area.. fact is i would have to drive over 300 miles, it might be worth it though! I have to drive 40 miles to my treatment. but the doctor comes from 300 miles to the clinic where i receive my chemo. When i have to do radiation i will have to move for awhile or stay with my daughter in Colorado , since they do not do radiation in this small town in MT. There also are no support groups in this area and I have been thinking of starting one once i am a little more sure on my feet.

    This is why i am so thrilled to have found such a wonderful online group. What a help this has been.

    Tell my pink sister moopie i am routing for her on Friday. And let me know about the "look good feel better" her picture is so darned cute that i'm sure she will be just as beautiful
    on the outside as i'm sure she is to you on the inside.

    Good luck to both Jackie and Moopy on infusion #2. May it go so smoothly, you hardly notice. Moopy and I will both be having infusions on Friday. I will be on #3: half-way through! Can't say that I am looking forward to it exactly, but every single one means one less to go. :)

    Hi Jackie,

    I saw your expressions gallery photo with the gloves, you look lovely do not stress too much about going out in public although I truly understand how you feel about it.

    I have very fast growing hair and a cup half full moment when I realized I did not have to shave my legs because the hair was gone there as well. Now let me tell you that was a perk! :-D

    Congrats on having one less chemo and another one just around the corner. You will do great and with each infusion you are one step closer to sending cancer packing!

    Well, happy anniversary, Sausage! I hope you do end up doing something really nice, even if you are having some GI issues. Maybe stuff a bottle of Immodium in your purse and go anyway?! Let us know how you celebrated!

    Sweet! Yes, it is always something, but maybe it too will be something you can laugh about! Spend the day with that special man, and he with you~ you are a blessing to one another! Congratulations!

    I posted this on the other thread...lol...
    For the itch and dryness, I generously slathered on Intense Moisturizing Cream by Mary Kay. It's pink (of course...lol), and fondly termed 'Axle grease' by the MK people...

    It got me thru a very cold and dry winter that year in Holland...

    Congrats on the anniversary!!!! My beau and I have been together for 17 years, last October. We spent many a special night, just the two of us, at home...interrupted occasionally by my trips to the pot (ROFL).

    Hi, Jackie, Joe and I both will be thinking of you and wishing you another good treatment. I like your idea of sending your husband for a luscious milkshake--I may try that myself!

    The Look Good Feel Better session was fun, putting on makeup and getting tips. But it would not be worth a long drive (not even for the makeup kit, which did include some high-end stuff). Most of the makeup tips were the usual ones, i.e, wear sunscreen and moisturizer. The cosmetologist did stress the impact of eyebrows and how important it is to spend the time and effort on creating a natural-looking brow. Powder is more natural than liner, and you can dip the brush in a bit of water to make the shadow stay on your skin. I am nervous about that as I do not have a steady hand. There is a website--lookgoodfeelbetter.org--but I haven't checked it out. An American Cancer Society rep was there to talk about all the ways the ACS can help, including a free wig and hats. By the way, you look like the cutest little abominable snow woman ever! Where did you get the hat?

    Hi Moopy I have been waiting for you right here on this board!! I feel like I know you already from all your hubbies posts. How is the hair thing going? I am still trying to get used to my new look...don't know if i ever will. anyway i have to go in early for my second infusion this morning it seems to take so long, but i use the time to journal, read, talk to the nurses and slurp on milkshakes. I am so glad to have you and Joe here on this cool website! although i wish we were here for any other reason, you will get much support from all these wonderful kindred sisters in pink.
