SURGERY TIME TOMORROW FOR HOP

Thanks CherylCherylHutch said:Hey Marygale and Hop.... I'm
Hey Marygale and Hop.... I'm late trying to catch up on all the messages about Hop's surgery. Congratulations!! Yes, I know what Buzz is saying... and I've been there too. You listen to the doctors, you absorb the information they give you, you set your mind around what they say is going to happen (or not going to happen) and you figure you know exactly what the path will be and WHAM! it changes. It never is exactly the same as how you think it will be... which is not to say it's bad, good or indifferent... just don't set your mind on it being one way. I'm going through that now and I swear the tiring part is not the surgeries or the treatments, but the getting one's mind around the fact whenever you figure you have it figured out, it changes
Hang in there and tell Hop I say HI!!!
Hugggggs,
Cheryl
I do understand where you guys are coming from...and like I said....I just have this wierd feeling...can't explain it....but I AM waiting for the other shoe to drop. Don't know what it'll be, but THINGS ARE JUST GOING TOO GOOD.....TOO RIGHT.....TOO JUST THE WAY WE WANTED THEM TO........Know what I mean?
OK, I'm off back to the hospital now. Will be there all afternoon and not taking the lap top w/ me this time. catch you all later this evening.

And things will continue to go GOOD and RIGHT... and when you get a blip in the road, you will look at it as that, a BLIP! Ok, here comes a BLIP, now what? And that's where the team will jump in and tell you and Hop what the change in treatment or added treatment or different procedure will be to get over the BLIP so you continue on the road of GOOD and RIGHT
I've come across a BLIP myself this week. I THOUGHT the RFA procedure on my lungs was going to be to remove 2 tumours. He removed 1. Well, that through me. Then he said that the better treatment for me will probably be chemo. Hello?? I thought we were talking about RFA being my treatment and chemo would maybe, possibly be somewhere down the road?? I was so focused on this newish procedure of RFA on the lungs, I wasn't thinking of any possible BLIPS. I had a plan and this was how it was going to be.
So, one tumour has been removed (yayayaya) but now I have a BLIP to my plan... and that's what I'll be discussing with my oncologist on Monday. he may see it as a BLIP where yes, we should give the chemo a try now, or she may say, "Let's wait and see what these spots do and hold off on the chemo right now"... either way, it will be a change to the plan I thought I had, but we too shall cross the BLIP when we have to
So here's to a journey with as few BLIPS as possible but they are bound to show their faces now and again and it just means changing the path to skirt around them

Strange you should write that because I had already been thinking along those lines. Ya know, everything has gone so beautifully so far.......I'm just sorta waitig for the other shoe to drop. I understand what you're trying to say tho and agree 100%. I'll have Hop read your entry to get him started thinking along those lines. Has anyone else out there done this too???
'Nuf for now....gotta go take a nap Am EXHAUSTED..
Thanks Buzzard,
Marygale
I'm so glad that you and Hop have this behind you! It all sounds great. I know what you mean about waiting for the other shoe to drop. But...I really think you have been through the worst. I always felt like the worst part was going through the diagnosis and waiting for answers. Don't get me wrong, the chemo is not easy, but you know what you are dealing with and you can fight it now! I remember feeling so lucky when we were to the point you are now.. The funny thing is----no one else thought we were lucky going through what we did. Isn't it funny how we change our prospective on things? You really are lucky---you have so much to be thankful for and this just made you realize it even more!
Take care of yourselves and my prayers to you for a quick recovery after surgery. Stay positive and keep the faith!

Thank you sweetie. Yes we are very very lucky and I just keep thanking God for all our blessings. Just hoping nothing will take the wind out of our sails--at least for a little while.
Thanks again

Glad to hear he's doing so well!!
Thank you for the update!
I thought that maybe some of you that don't get in the caringbridge sites would appreciate this...I copied and pasted it here from the site about Hops continued progress...here it is........
Fri. Jan 23
Nose tube came out this afternoon and Hop is sooooo happy about that. Can start w/ ice chips and later this eve. some liquids. He is soooo hungry. Spirits are good and he's being a real comedian. Sons here to see him....cath. comes out tomorrow. For right now we're on the down hill slide and praying it keeps up. Washed his face and shaved this a.m.
I'm still singing praises to the Almighty for all he's done for us, and still ever in debt to all of our prayer warriors.

Since Hop is such a comedian tell him that all of us in here got together and hired a rather large man (looks and acts a lot like Sasquatch) to remove his cath today. Although this guys hands shake a lot he informed us that he used to work in a garage and change tires. Im sure he'll do a smooth removal. His name will be Bubba, you'll be able to tell its him when he walks in, he'll be whistling the theme song to the Dukes of Hazard and he also has 1 tooth in his whole mouth. NAWWWWW, just kiddin'....he can't whistle a lick...........LOL
All kidding aside, ya'll have a great day today.....God Bless ya both......... :-)0
