ICE
Hi,
I have had the ICE treatment and am doing very well since the treatment. I had a total of 6 treatments. Monday I would receive Rituxan. Tues a break. Weds-Friday I received the ICE. Thursday I would receive Etiposide (I am going by memory) administered 24 hours. My first two treatment made me feel like I was moving in slow motion.
All went well. But once disconnected from steroids, I definitely felt the difference. I would be released from the hospital on Saturday. Sunday I felt like I was hit by a bus. I was in pain all day Sunday. Monday I would wake up with absolutely no pain at all. I returned to the drs office on Monday morning for a check up. Blood tests were done to check my chemistry and organs. He also checked me physically....checked the areas of concern.
I also had a friend who had the ICE treatment. He felt the same way. So, don't worry. There is discomfort for a day. After that day you should feel a lot better. I am finished all 6 tmts and am doing well. I am going to the gym and am glad I did the ICE treatment.
Good luck.0 -

Hi there. Thank you very much for your response. I have to go on Wednesday and I'm getting pretty nervous. My treatment is going to be Wed, Thurs, and Friday. 6 hours each day. I kinda figured after the steroid wears off I'll be hurting. It was the same way with the ABVD. I still want to get this over and done with. I've already been thru 12 treatments of ABVD and the Hodgkins came back within 2 months. Now I have to get this ICE and get ready for a stem cell transplant. It gets kinda hard to breath at night and in the morning. I have lymph nodes pushing on my lungs and in my neck. Talking to people here really helps ease my concerns. Well, one more day. I'm gonna try to not think about it and think about getting better.
Thanks again for the info. I'm glad you are doing well!!!!!0 -

I was given the ICE regime when I had a recurrance too. First I cried, but moved fwd. My drs also want me to do a stem cell transplant. I'd love to hear from you to see who your first tmt went.
Yes, I am doing quite well, you will too!
Let me know if I can assist you with anything else.
Take care. Big hug and prayers.0
