Hello Everyone
Haven't been posting very often but I do try to keep up with everyone and how they are doing. There are so many wonderful people here that have helped me so much get though the past 3 years. My husband was diagnosed Jan. 30 2006 stage 3 rectal cancer. He is doing great, just had his 6 month followup colonoscopy all is clear except still has radiation damage in surgery area. They have done several biopsies on this area all have been negative for cancer. His doctor is keeping a close eye on this and will do a sigmoid in May. His Pet/ct
also came back good all organs are clear! Again the pet shows activity in the surgical area
due to inflammation from radiation. The only other thing the ct showed was a thyroid nodule. His doctor is not concerned but is ordering an ultrasound just to be sure everything is normal. Has anyone ever had a thyroid nodule on cat scan that turned out to be nothing. It did not show activity on pet scan. Seems like these scans always pick up every little thing. I guess thats good! Just always gives me something to worry about.

Happy New Year to All!

Great news!
That's fabulous news, Val! Those PET scans and CT scans are absolutely amazing tools in this fight. Think back to the days before they had them and how many people lost the fight because of the lack of these scans.
But you and your husband are starting the new year off great!! Keep up the good work!!

thyroid nodules
I had modules show up on my thyroid a few years back and further investigation proved nothing to worry about. Needless to say when I first got the results I went online and searched everything I could find! Didn't help, of course, but there is a bunch of stuff out there. Unfortunately, the nodules can turn out to be something as well, so definitely follow up!
