I would like to thank everyone that has given me Help and Support through this extremly difficult time in my Life. To all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
I wish you all a safe, healthly, and happy new year filled with memories for you all to have and hold. Lets hope and pray this terrible disease called cancer will find a cure for our future. It is a terrioble ordeal for anyone to have to face but with this beautiful site and board we can all know that we encourage and help others and hope that some find peace with our words of encouragment and advise.
Happy Holidays!!0 -

Blue,
You have been a help and an inspiration to many of us. My wish for you and all is a wonderful Christmas and a healthy happy New Year. The people on this site are an inspiration and a blessing to all of us. RoseAnn
RoseAnn,
Thank you so much for the lovely compliments but I am no different from each and everyone on this discussion board, all are so generous with sharing their stories, and in doing so, validating each and every one of us in our battle with cancer and its aftermaths. This site is a true gift and indeed, as you said, a true blessing as well. That old adage that 'you don't know what it's like til you've been there' sure holds true for experiencing cancer or being a caregiver and we are all truly lucky to have people who indeed have 'been there' for us to relate to and learn from through this site. All the best to you and your family in 2009, hope your Xmas was indeed Merry. Blessings, Blueroses0 -

All of the kind and generous people on this site and all who run it have made my (terminal) situation bearable. My family is loving and supportive, but only the people here can really understand all that we go through day-to-day and that brings such comfort.
Wishing all of you Happy Holidays and improved health in the new year!
Much love,

Hi Holly, Just wanted you to know that I have thought of you often throughout my holidays and have shared a bit of your story with my 23 year old son who I know was touched by all you are going through this Xmas. I feel as though he came to new realizations about it all and about my situation as well in hearing of your story. All of this suffering we have all gone through would be for not if we didn't share our stories for all to learn from - tales of great courage and the fight for life and above all - the importance of friends, family and love as the ultimate gift. Thank you for sharing your story and courage, it is a gift to us all. Love and blessings, Blueroses.0 -

I truly appreciate your kindness and understanding. I hope your son realizes what a wonderful mom he has. My family was very good to me on Christmas; they didn't bicker or behave selfishly, a true Christmas miracle!! I made the turkey dinner and the desserts without collapsing and all seemed to enjoy the day- that was my prayer and it was granted. A wonderful day, full of kindness and love.If indeed the doctors are right and it was my last, I am satisfied that they all seem now to get the importance of family.I couldn't ask for more. This being my second family now, all of you are so special to me and I truly wish the best for each and every one!
Hugs to all,

Wow Holly, you made a whole Xmas dinner? I am impressed and so glad that you were able to rise above it all to make a wonderful feast for your family. I found that I was able to do the same for my son who came in for Xmas and all of my health issues seemed to fade as I was so joyfully catering to him, so that he had a warm and homey Xmas. It seems as if a special vail of strength comes over us as Mothers when we are trying to care for our families, even under extraordinarily difficult situations with our health. I am simply struggling with after effects from treatments, your situation is far more difficult than mine at this point, I truly respect and can only imagin how much joy you found in creating a lovely Xmas for your family. After my son left I slept the day and night away, I was exhausted, but it was truly worth it and made me feel so much better - if only for that time. I like you was granted that window of strength to get through, that I prayed for. Talk to you soon. Love, Blueroses.0 -
WOAH HOW DID THIS OLD MESSAGE BOARD GET PUT UP HERE?
I was just about to put up a Christmas 2009 message board like I did last year and lo and behold there was my last year's board under my old id name, with an 's' on it. I read through it and was stunned to see messages on it from last year at this time from HollyBerry who of course we lost not long ago. It was like an angelic intervention that this old category popped this up again at this time of the year. I'm sure there is a logical explanation for this coming up again, a full year later, but I didn't do it at all. Mysterious.
I will post a separate 2009 board right now, it's just that I didn't want anyone I know on here think I would repost something like this with a friend on it who passed, or maybe it's good that it did appear out of remembrance. This will definitely affect my Christmas, personally for me in a positive way, but hope it doesn't offend or upset anyone to see Holly's name on the postings seeing she has passed. I didn't put this 2008 message up but it has my posts on it plus others.
Look for the 2009 Xmas board please. Blessings, Bluerose0 -

Hi Everyone. Sometimes things just happen I guess. Holly loved this time of year so much and I am sure she is watching over us. I talked to Holly's husband Jerry about a week ago. He is struggling with the loss of his soul mate. I can't imagine how Christmas will be for him and the children. Jerry and the kids have been invited to my home next summer for some camping and sailing. It is my hope that we are able to keep the memories of Holly's love for the outdoors alive in her children. That is the least I can do for someone I cared about so much. Slickwilly0 -

I can feel Holly's presence on this site even yet and actually never really felt she left so I know what you mean.
She made a great impact on many of us and her postings here cemented how I remember her talking about Christmas. Makes sense this post site should come up again now.
I can't imagin how her family is going to get through Xmas this year either having lost her so recently but she has created wonderful memories for them to remember from all the Xmases she shared with them while she was here.
All the best to you and yours this holiday season Slick. Hugs, Bluerose0
