The Gift of Friendship

Some of you will remember that back in October (Oct 19), I had the most wonderful Celebration of Life and Friendship party given to me. To say that spending the evening with sooo many friends from the past to the present time, was overwhelming (in a good way) to say the least. Then, because I am involved with the theatre community here in Vancouver, to have some friends get up and put on a little tribute show in my honour, was such an incredible gift... the whole night was magical and I know I now do not take any one of my precious friendships for granted.

It is really hard to put into words what it was like to be in a theatre with approx 200 people there... imagine being in a theatre and knowing every single person in the audience as well as those up on the stage.

So, because I consider you all my cyber-friends (we have not met in person, but let's face it, we all can talk some of the most intimate conversations here and everyone supports and offers advice), I would be more than happy to share this magical tribute that my friends put on for me.

Because the whole show would be way too large of a file for anyone to wait for it to download, we have broken it up into 8 segments. The files are still relatively large but if you just click on the links (rather than right-click and save the file to your computer), the files will not be on your computer so they won't be taking up room.

To see the video segments, go to -- http://www.trulylowcarb.com/cher/main.htm

At some point, you are going to be asked for an ID and Password:

ID: tribute
PW: letmein

It may be slightly faster to download the files to your computer, but it will also take up space on your hard drive, so just click on the link for the first video segment, then go off and do whatever you were doing while you wait for it to "buffer". You'll want to watch a segment before going on to the next one. Each segment takes about 15-20 minutes to buffer, depending on the speed of your internet connection... but trust me, it is worth the wait. Each segment gets better and better... until the last two. I know we all are most critical of ourselves, but when I got up to talk, I didn't have a speech prepared so the whole thing is made up on the spot... and I can tell!!

Enjoy!!

Huggggs,

Cheryl

    You are more than welcome!!
Thank you, Polarprincess... I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested or not, but to me, it is so very special. That my friends would do this, and so many showed up to celebrate... well the whole evening was absolutely magical

What it all boils down to is that medicine can do wonders and we are so lucky to live in an age when they are finding treatments and even cures. But to actually give us what we need to "live"... that's where friends and family and caregivers are so important. It's their love and support that will give us the drive to fight on!!

So special note to caregivers, friends, spouses, brothers, sisters and anyone who cares and worries about someone you love who is fighting this battle. Know that your love and support is sooooo important to the person who is in the fight. They may not verbalize it, and there will be days when they are downright cranky and miserable, but know that without your love, your support, they would be lost.

And that is why these video segments are so special... you could cut the air with a butter knife, it was so thick with love and support!

    Hugggggs,

    Cheryl
