Great news!
Sandi that is awesome. Your family will be able to breathe a sigh of relief due to your husband's great response. I remember when we first got news like that for my mom. It's amazing how good it makes you feel knowing that all the hardships you've faced are starting to be behind you. I have found that the better my mom feels mentally, the better she responds to treatment. Happy holidays!!!0 -
Outstanding!
Sandi, that is such great news all around! Not only that he is responding well to the treatments but that he is tolerating them well and that you guys are in high spirits for the holidays! It's been a tough road for you two and it is just so heartening to see you doing well with this! It's great to see you've rounded that corner into hope and a light at the end of the tunnel! God is truly an awesome God! Merry Christmas and an absolutely fabulous new year!

Hi Sandi,
So glad to hear
Hi Sandi,
So glad to hear your husband is headed in the right direction! That's about where I'm at, too & I'll also be having chemo 2 days before Christmas. Last year, it was the morning after Christmas so I think this schedule works better. Truly, I'm glad to share in your husband's good news (which is good news for you and your whole family, of course!)
Take care,

Thanks Peter,
What is SIRT?
Sandi
Hi Sandi,
SIRT is Selective Internal Radiation Therapy, a new procedure to treat metastatic liver cancer in case where it is not possible to surgically remove liver tumors. You can see the detail in
http://www.sirtex.com and http://www.y90support.org
In my case, the liver tumor is not in the right place for surgery, so SIRT is an option.

Thank you everyone for your good thoughts and prayers - looks like it's working and we are moving in the right direction.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday Season !!
Sandi
That's FANTASTIC news, Sandi!! You and your hubby have been on such a roller coaster ride and now it looks like the extreme highs and lows are leveling off. Just remember, if there are any other dips in the journey, they will all level out and one doesn't have to go through that terror and frustration every time.
I am soooo happy for you that this good news came just before the holidays Perfect timing!!

Thank you all so much
Thank you all so much, but we have had a little mishap - my husband has experienced an allergic reaction to the oxiplatin 2 times in a row now and the oncologist has decided to take him off of it. She will be putting him on another drug that does the same thing but no neuropathy just an increase in diarhea, which he has not had. but that's ok - so no more gloves now. We are still optimistic and we are praying for him to go into remission when chemo is all done.
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.

I am sorry your husband had a bit of a problem with the oxi, is he being put on CPT-11? I pray he will have no more problems and just be sure to keep on top of diarrhea if he has it; they have pills for that!

I made it through 5 ever decreasing rounds - I think at the end they just waved with oxaliplatin over the chemo bag. I did the 5FU. I am currently 17 months ned and wish your husband all the best.
