CT Scan and SIRT

Hi all,

Met with my onc yesterday to discuss the option after 12 chemo (folfox+Avastin). The CT shows the tumor in my liver has shrunk another 20% from last scan 3 months ago. The rectal tumor is stable. My onc thinks the liver resection is not an option, because of the size and location of the tumor. He is sending me to talk with interventional radiologist about SIRT. He thinks I should be a good candidate for SIRT. Has anyone done that before?
I will not have the surgery to remove the rectal tumor before SIRT. They think I should take care of the liver problem first. So I am going to have one month free of chemo and surgery.

Happy holiday.

Peter

    Woo Hoo! Holidays without chemo!
You will enjoy the time off, I am sure! I haven't had SIRT, but I have heard good things and I am sure you will get some postings from people who have had it done. It is good to hear that the tumor in your liver is shrinking and that the rectal tumor is stable! Enjoy the time, recover and build your strength and let us know how it goes with the SIRT! Have a blessed Christmas!
