Once again, I have a question...

I am having my last chemo this week...yay!! Then, I need to make arrangements for my 6 weeks of rads.
However, I have had a virus since October (still coughing incessantly) and laryngitis for the past month. But we have pressed forward with the chemo, while keeping a close eye out for pneumonia.
My question is whether it would be ok to take a bit of time off now, before starting the radiation, to try and get over all of this. Or if it is wiser to start the rad as soon as possible after my last chemo?
I would so like to give my body a bit of time to try & get over the coughing, and to get my voice back. But at the same time, I don't want to jeopardize treatments.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,
CR

Fair question...
I can understand why you would be wondering about this. But for me, rads was a walk in the park compared to chemo. Some extra fatigue which was managed by simplifying my schedule and just being good to myself pretty much took care of it. Obviously, you will want to check with your onco and get his opinion before you decide whether or not to delay rads.0 -

Woohoo, you are done with the worst part of the treatment. I would check with the oncologist and radiology oncologist and see what they say. I haven;t had rads but everyone has said that it was much more doable then chemo. Hope all goes well and keep us posted. Merry Christmas. Hugs, Lili0 -

I think that the rads. are indeed delayed a little while after chemo to let your body regroup. I want to say at least three weeks in my case, if I remember. Maybe that will be long enough to help your body rally. I hope so! love, Joyce0 -

I will never forget doing my last chemo. It was Easter weekend and it was warm. The sun shone and the birds sang and I drank it in like I had never experienced sun and birds before.
Congratulations, I'm glad you're through. Done. Forget about it!! Good Riddance!!!
I'm sure if you mentioned taking a bit of a break they wouldn't mind. Esp when you haven't been feeling well.
You are going to have a great Christmas just knowing it's over.
