? second opinion?
Kristen,
I am 39 and recently diagnosed with endometrial cancer. I am currently undergoing radiation treatments and will have chemotherapy after I finish radiation. I have pelvic and rectal pain and pressure, heavy periods, bloating, gas and constipation. I think some of my symptoms were related to my endometriosis, but I am not sure. Did they remove the polyps on your cervix for biopsy? The first test they did on me was ultrasound which showed thickening of the endometrial lining. Then I had a D&C where they found a polyp in the top of my uterus.
I hope all of this does not scare you more. You have to be your own advocate, you know your body better than anyone. If you don't get an answer in a timely manner, look for a second opinion. I hope and pray that you are okay. Take care of you. I know you will worry until you know, but try not to. If you want to talk, you can write again on this thread, I am happy to lend an ear. Good luck!0 -

Nothing has been done yet. I did have the sono that showed what she thinks is a polyp in the lining. Also have the Bilaterial mass, 3 cm. On the 12th im getting a MRI. She did say that we will take one step at a time and I will need a D & C. All other blood work and pap are fine.
I guess if i did not also have all the stomach issues i would be feeling better , but seems everyone here that had/had cancer had the stomach problems also. The only thing that makes me feel somwhat better is that all blood work is good, CA125 neg. Im just so worried and scared. I have 2 small kids... They worry about me anyway all the time. They are just those type of children, I'm praying so hard im ok. But inside I say what else could this all be if not Cancer!!0 -
Have that D&C!
I am so glad that you are having that D&C. Make sure that they cut out the polp during that procedure and do pathology on it. I would also want that mass by your ovary biopsied if it were me, and that may involve a more invasive surgery. It may all turn out to be nothing, and I pray that will be the case. But if your doctor is one of those "let's keep an eye on it and wait and see" doctors, I would get a second opinion just to set your mind at ease. The MRI and and D&C both sound like your doctors are on top of things. Take comfort in your low CA125, but don't let that give you a false sense of complacency as CA125 is an imperfect tool for initial diagnosis and more an 'after-treatment' marker. You don't want to 'borrow trouble' by assuming the worst, but at the same time, you have to look out for yourself and insist on aggressive diagnostics and treatment if it is warranted. Try not to dwell on the 'what ifs'; put this all in God's hands if you can, and try and be patient as the diagnosis unfolds. I went away on a 9-day hiking trip while the pathology on my D&C was being worked up, and it was the best vacation of my life. I came back to bad news, but at least I enjoyed myself instead of making myself crazy with worry. And I am dealing with my cancer treatment the same way, one day at a time. Deep breath; now relax. big hug ((((((kristinem)))))0 -

I don't want to worry you, but would caution use of the CA 125 as diagnostic. Mine was also normal. I would push to get that D&C done ASAP. You will feeling better knowing and you do not want to waste any time if this is cancer. In my case, my diagnosis was Stage I from the D&C. When I had my hysterectomy, the "polyp" was actually a tumor which had spread to 1 pelvic lymph node. I guess what I am saying is don't let them put you off or waste time. Please take care of you, this is the time to be assertive. It may be nothing and I hope it isn't, but if it is every day counts! You are in my prayers, I hope everything turns out fine.0 -

Thank you all for your words. I just want to believe that it isnothing but yet I think it is! They did say the mass could be a lymph. How come they can't tell the difference as of yet just from the vag sono, don't they know what lymps look like??0
