Still NED!!!!

Hi all,
Just got back from my 2 year appointment and I am still NED!!!! Onc said CT and blood work looks great. He said I can get my port taken out whenever I am ready. I only have to see him every 6 months instead of 3. I was sitting in the waiting room before my appointment and was talking to a lady who had brought a friend. When they called my name to fill out some paperwork, she was floored. She said she never imagined I was the patient. I told her cancer definitely doesn't discriminate. Funny thing also happened.... They called a name of a lady and I recognized the name. I asked her if she used my pharmacy and she said yes. I told her that I had talked to her on the phone right after she was diagnosed because she was using the same onc as me. She said speaking to me on the phone helped her so much to quiet her fears that day. She said that I had really helped her. It was nice to meet her in person and I am sad to say she is not doing well. It goes to show that all of us can greatly impact a life with out even knowing it.
I want to thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. Know that I pray for all of you daily.

Hey, Kiersten!
Mucho congrats! You and I have been neck and neck in this battle. (I was diagnosed on Halloween of '06) What a RELIEF, eh? Like you, I pray for everyone on this board daily. Really helps!
Had my CEA last week which was normal...WOOHOO!!. Had my repeat CT scans today, and will have my colonoscopy next week. I plan on doing the dance right along with you. (Are you going to CP6?) xoxoxo, Cheryl0 -
Go Girl
I bet you're on cloud 9 and rightly deserve to be. Prayers definitely work and I will gladly pray for you to continue your upward recovery. Great news to go from 3 month checkups to 6 month checkups, that' a big achievement that we all look forward to. I had my first mediport taken out in July because it was totally plugged. I thought that was the greatest feeling and I had it done in the surgeon's office under local anastegia. Nothing to be afraid of, took about 20 minutes and no pain whatsoever, even let me keep it for a souvernere. You are heading in a wonderful direction and your success fuels the rest of us to one day follow in your footsteps. Absolutely fabulous to hear such uplifting news concerning cancer recovery. Fight On! love, Randy0 -

I am dancing for you, my dear!!!!
Thanks for sharing the news!
And, yes, it IS a great surprise when someone tells us how much we have helped them...at a forum on Saturday, after my speaking, a gal came up and said "Hey, if you can do it, I'm going to do it, too!!!"
Hugs, Kathi0
