So. I wasn't crazy that my mom was having too harsh of side effects. turns out she is of the few that have the enzyme deficiency and can't metabolize campostar. I'm not sure why she wasn't tested for this. her onc said because it takes time and is rare. I need to get her to a major cancer center which i am working on. I am very frustrated with her care. She has been in the hospital since sunday. Her kidneys were shutting down due to dehydration, nausea and diarreah. I'm uneasy because i'm not sure what the next line of defense will be chemo wise. her biopsy for the suspicious activity on her thyroid is postponed, making me more uneasy. I'm venting stream of consciousness right now. there is no access at the hospital where she is in her room so I took a break to come home and shower. She is finally feeling a little better her WBC is starting ti rise again so hopefully she'll be home soon. I hope you all are well and I continue to pray for everyone here and a cure for this bleeping illness. keep my amazing mom in your prayers if you have time.

peace.

krysti

    Sorry
There is always time to include all warriors and their caretakers in prayer. You and your family will be in mine.
I surely hope that she will be able to come home soon. I can understand your frustration. Some of these treatments seem so random and yes, why didn't they check her for that enzyme. It could get you crazy. Great that you recognized that things were not right. I hope you are not too far from a major center. Where do you live?
My best thoughts go out to you.

    Your mother
Kristi, I am so sorry to hear your mother is having such a hard time of it. You and she are in my prayers. I pray that she recovers quickly from the recent setback and that you are able to get her to a place where you are all comfortable with the level of care she is receiving. You are doing a great job, keep doing what you are doing and this too shall pass.

    home now
Well. That was certainly scary. My mom's kidneys were shutting down and white blood cell count dropped to under 2 and she had a fever. After heavy doses of antibiotics and shots and pills, etc...she is finally home with prescriptions in hand & sores in her mouth. thank you all for your prayers.

I am glad to head your Mom is home. Ask her doctor for a prescription for the mouth wash for her mouth sores if she doesn't already have one.
