Hello eveyone
. Hope you are all doing ok and keeping you all in my prayers. Unfortunately, it looks like we are going to do battle again with the beast. Results indicate a reoccurance in my husbands liver and although we are terribly disappointed in the news, we will continue to keep hope alive and wage the war against the beast. We've already set up for tomorrow with the surgeon who did the liver resection last October, almost exactly a year ago. We met with oncologist today for the results of last weeks ct/pet and unless the surgeon thinks it's absolutely necessary we really dont want to do chemo again prior to any surgery to shrink the mets and don't want to lose any window of opportunity. There appears to be three again in the right lobe. 2 more have appeared since July's scan ajacent to the one that showed up then which has increased in size. If surgery or rfa are an option, we will go that route again , this time followed by adjuvant chemo for probably 6 mos. Onc feels that since Bob did well on it a year ago, will go for an aggressive treatment plan. Wasn't the news I was hoping to share with you all, but I still am reminded of my blessings and remain hopeful that a second surgery is an option and will prove successful. Thanks for your continued good thoughts and prayers.
God Bless
Diane

Beat the Beast---Again
Oh Diane, I'm so sorry you had to get this news. This is not what we prayed for, but it could be worse. I hope you can remain positive and have faith that you can beat this again. I am glad that you are able to meet with the surgeon tomorrow and pray that he will have a good plan of action for Bob. You both remain in my thoughts and prayers. Keep us updated with the treatment plan. Hugs to you!

Hi Diane,
Hi Diane,
I know how hard this must be to swallow but you are so right about the opportunity for another resection. Please keep us posted with whats up with you and Bob.
He is lucky to have you by his side.

don your armor once again
Diane, I am so sorry you two are heading into the battle once again. I pray that you continue to find the strength that is necessary in this fight and that you put your burdens in the arms of He who can carry you through. Be strong, live strong, and God be with you.

I am so sorry you guys are going through this again. But you have options, and as long as there are options, you have the tools to beat the beast. My prayers are with you and your hubby. I know what it feels like to consider another surgery so soon after the last one, but know that strength comes when you least expect it. I know that whatever choice you make, it will be the right one. Monica0

I am so sorry to hear this
I am so sorry to hear this news. As someone who has experienced recurrences, I know how hard it is to hear the news, and then to muster the energy and attitude to tackle it once again. But it sounds like you are well along that path. I think it is good that you are looking at surgery (and/or RFA) as the first option. I hope you meetings with doctors go well and that you are able to develop a plan you are comfortable with. Please update us when you are able to. Best wishes, Tara0 -
Praying for you both!
Sorry I haven't written to you in awhile...but have followed all your postings and been praying. All I can say is "plan like there's no prayer and pray like there's no plan". I'm battling with you and have faith in Him who has brought me this far. Please keep us posted. Prayers will be arriving before you next appointment!0 -
Sending well wishes
I'm so sorry that you and your hubby have to go through this again but it seems that the onc has a good plan. I'm sending good vibes hoping to help you through this and with your attitudes and the oncs you can beat the beast into submission again. Hopefully for the last time!
