Still trying to deal with it!!!! almost giving up my Quemo
Well, I just found out i have Breast Cancer spreaded to my spine! I'm still trying to deal with it!. I went to ER for lower back pain and the diagnose was Cancer!! I stayed in the Hospital for Backer act for 7 days. They were very kind and nice... right the way I start doing Radiation on my Spine to shrink the tumor. I cannot work or drive because I can be paralised!. They also put a catheter on my chest for the Quemo.
They told me is non-profit Hospital ( I don't have any kind of insurance) and advice me to take advantage of it and do whatever they want me to do at least I know what's going on with me...
After that I start to get bills in my house... even the doctor... What made me step back..
well.. I still didn't contact them about my Quemo...because I'm afraid.. I cannot pay it..
Telling the truth is panic!!! It's just me Myself and I... I'm trying to find alternative treatments... I'm about do give up of Quemo!!!

Giving up on Chemo
Hello Yve welcome although I wish you did not have to get breast cancer! Do not give up on chemo it can do so much good for you, it has extended my life by 11 years so far. Call the American Cancer Society and tell them your plight perhaps they are aware of programs for people without insurance. Also call the hospital and be honest and frank with them, you need to get your chemo. In addition to the chemo it sounds like they put a port in you which must be cleaned periodically, this is very important. Please Yve do not give up on getting your chemo or on getting well. Cancer is a scary journey but we will be here for you. Sending hugs your way!

Chemo
Yve, I, also, do not have any insurance. I go to the county hospital for all my treatments. My cancer just come back last week. I am on their discount program which helps a whole lot. I just went in yesterday to the hosp pharmacy to sign a form needed to receive the chemo free. Many of the companies that make these drugs help people who can't afford them. My husband has been on disabilty for 24 years now. He also receives medicare. I just went on disability a year ago, so I don't qualify for medicare for another year. The hosp explained to me that since I have no insurance, the company who manufactures my chemo will pay for the drug. Please call your hospital and see how they work their plan. I receive bills also, but do not have to pay them. One bill alone was over $27 thousand but my portion was only $300 and I can make payments on that. Please call them.
Hugs and prayers, Linda0 -

Thank you for the support... I'm so scare about everything...I have the power port for 1 almost 1 month now. They said I have 6 month to live... I'm just so lost... Every morning I plan to drive to the hospital and talk with them .... and every morning I give up ....
I'm trying to be POSITIVE... I use to be so alive, happy, everybody ask me how I can smile all day long... but ,but now... It's so hard to look myself... I'm not the same anymore...
Just being here make me comfortable to talk , to open my heart...
My entire life I use to work a lot, trying to help people... Now... I have to ask for everything.. I cannot do anything!!! Even for Medicare I don't qualify because I'm not resident yet!!!
Even the Bank that I have account, the manager came to clean my house... The bank gave a small fridge for my bedroom so i don't need to go downstairs... I should be proud of it....!!! But very soon the money is gone... ... I'm just so so lost.... Anyway is good to be here.... I love you all0 -
Yve: So sorry you are
Yve: So sorry you are having to go through all this. But please do not give up on the chemo. I know that the hospitals have charity care and the pharmaceutical companies do help people that can not pay for the drugs. Talk to the hospital where you are going and they can get you help. Also contact ACS, they may be able to help you out financially.
Don't panic, there is help out there. Where are you from Yve? Hugs to you, Lili0 -
