Aw no chat today!

I miss my chat room friends! I have had quite the ordeal this past week! I went to have a port put in and ended up having my carotid artery punctured. My surgeon was great, put me in a step down ICU overnight and everyone watched me like a hawk for whatever signs they were watching for. I went home Friday and have been laying low this weekend. I am supposed to start chemo this Thursday without the port. Surgeon told me that he couldnt get it in the shoulder cuz he couldnt get a good vein. He then went for the jugular vein, got the first port in realized it was defective (it was cracked)he pulled it out and while he was inserting the second port into the vein, i 'woke up' and started coughing so instead of inserting it into the jugular it went into the carotid. I don't think he was happy with the ansethesiologist though. I wont get the port put in until near the end of my first round of chemo. He sees me next Friday to check my neck and check the fluid collecting under my arm post lymph node dissection/mastectomy. Guess I'll see what is in store for Thursday!!
