I was diagnosed with stage 3B Inflammatory Breast Cancer in May 2008. I've gone through 4 rounds of chemo and just had a mastectomy and two nodes removed. I went to the Dr on 9/15 for him to see how I was healing and they noticed redness which they beleive to be an infection and gave me anitbiotics. I am so afraid that this is it coming back. They want me to heal furhter before administering 4 more rounds of chemo and 7 weeks of radiation. I'm afraid to just sit around and wait to see if it clears up with antibiotics. Does anyone out there have IBC or have any advice for what I should do? Also, I have been asking them about my HER2 status for a month now and still have not been told what it is. I am very concerned. I have four young children ages 7, 5, 4, and 22 months. After reading up on this type of breast cancer I am very afraid of it recurring. I just want to live. I want to see my kids grow up. If anyone can help me I would certainly appreciate advice you may be able to give on this subject.

Stacy - there was just a
Stacy - there was just a long string of posts about IBC that you may want to read. Go back a few and you should find them within the last 25 posts. I can't imagine why you are having a hard time ascertaining your her2 status. It should be a part of the path. report. Call your surgeon, call your onc. You can request a copy of your path report AS WELL as being told what is on it. Be pushy if you need to be.
I want you to live too sweetheart. And I want your life to be as easy as possible. I am glad you are coming here for support and hope you are able to gets lots of help and love, here and in person. Please let us know how we can help. Love, Joyce
