    Fun Question!
Thanks for posting it, Mary :)

I'm originally from Southern California, born and raised in Los Angeles County, but migrated South to Orange County after traveling around the country for work (I lived and worked in Alaska, North Carolina, Virgina, DC, Colorado...and more...). I now live in South Carolina, where I moved last year with my new hubby, SpongeBob. It's okay, but we're ready for our next stop, and look forward to eventually moving back to DC/Virginia.

Born and raised in San Diego California! Lately it feels more like Africa!

Hey, Notice how the three of us all joined CSN in October of different years?

    San Diego in November!
    Hi Krista!

Bob and I will be in San Diego in November after Colon Palooza. We'll be there November 9-11...perhaps we can meet for lunch...a little mini-palooza...we can bring the party to you! Although, please consider joining us for the big Palooza in San Francisco from November 5 - 9. It's great fun!

I can hardly wait to see my family in SoCal!

    Hi Mary!

Cool Post. I feel like the boring one in the crowd. Born and Raised in PA near Valley Forge. I did move to NY,NY for about 1 month but I don't feel like that counts much in 'living' somewhere else. LOL. Nice to see what a diverse crowd we have.

    England
I am British and live in Yorkshire (northern England). I lived in Italy (Tuscany) from 1998-2004 but otherwise have lived in England all my life (born in Bristol, raised in Winchester, university in Cambridge, then nearly two decades in London). I had an American husband (originally from Orange County) and have travelled quite a bit in the States (although only on the East and West coasts, never in the middle).

Sandi, So how do you like it in the states? What about health care differences? We hear so much about how much better it is elsewhere when you don't have to pay the huge amounts of money we do here.

Well, I like it here only because i'm with my husband. I can't vote or anything like that because I am not a citizen. The health care differences are just that different. AT home (Canada) you don't need referrals, no copays - the doctors office does everything for you - if you see your family doctor (who does everything) and he feels you need to see a specialist the office sets it up for you while you wait. That is probably what I miss the most - I've been here for almost 10 years and I still haven't gotten the hang of the health system here. I wouldn't know if the health care is better in Canada because you don't pay the huge amounts of money as here - but I have never been "really" sick. So I really couldn't say.

    great subject
I was born, raised and still live in Southern California, the San Fernando Valley. I have always wanted to experience 4 seasons and see the leaves change colors. On the other hand I really don't like snow so I guess it's good that I live here though I really hate earthquakes. I guess everyone has something!

    Indiana
I was born and raised in Indiana. Have lived all over (Indiana). Traveled with job, then at age 52, I met my husband (to be) on line (had never been married). Within 3 months, I retired (from a job of 34 years), got married, and moved to another city! Oh what fun it has been. Errrr...except the cancer that is. That was last year. BUT..I am now NED and doing fine.

Good meeting you Mary. Will you get any of IKE (coming your way)?

    Valley Forge!
Lisa, I was born in Phoenixville at Valley Forge Hospital! Is that close? Or am I making an incorrect assumption on the name? I didn't actually live there, my mother was there for her mother's funeral and had to stay since she was so far along with us (I have a twin brother). We went back home to California 2 weeks after we were born, where daddy was stationed.

Hi Claudia, good to meet you too! I am in the foothills of NC, so rarely do we get much fallout from hurricanes. They did get quite a bit of fallout from Hugo, but Hugo was such a LARGE storm that it wreaked havoc far and wide! I wasn't living here then, we were up in Newport, RI when Hugo hit, then moved to Charleston right after (Jan 1990). We lived in the Charleston area for 9 years, then moved to Chesapeake, VA. Lived there not quite 2 years, then the husband retired. We moved here and have since divorced. I stayed, he went elsewhere to find work (a lot of industry is closing here, not much for an ex-Navy guy to make a living at). We did travel through Indiana (I remember the Indianapolis speedway) on a transfer to Great Lakes, Ill, but that's my only experience with Indiana. Being a Navy brat and wife kept me on the coasts except for travel! Prayers for continued NEDness for you!

    love this post
Very interesting post. I like to see where everyone is. If I get the chance, since there has been much discussion about the seasons...I'll take some pics this year and post them. Also, my dad bought a combine today so maybe I'll get some pics of harvesting. It is such a beautiful sight. I suppose I should note that I also lived in London, England. FAR different than Ohio. Especially for a farm girl like myself. Although, outside of London, the country side looks very similar to OH.

Hi Katie! I would absolute love to get together with you and Bob in November! That would be a lot of fun, and wonderful to meet you both!

Let me know what the dates are, and i will plan a fun evening for us.

I so wish i could go to the real colonpalooza this year. I was looking forward to it. Alas our finances are completely out of whack since my diagnosis. I hope that any semi-colons that are in the area at that time could join us too. I know a very nice little place in the gas lamp district that has half price appetizers after 10 pm, and they are delicious.

Life is wonderful when you have something to look forward to!

    Talk soon!

I'm from the hometown of Lucy Ball. We actually have Lucyfest every year. Jamestown is 70 miles south of Buffalo. You know what that means lots and lots of snow. I love this time of year the trees are starting to change and it the most beautiful site. I love this post it is great to see where we all live. Michelle

    Well now that you ask
I was born in San Francisco, lived in Michigan, New York, London, Australia (both Sydney and Melbourne) all before I was 13. Spent my high school years in the San Francisco Bay Area, went off to Iowa to college, then to Florida, off to Houston, TX, back to northern California got married and moved to Boston. I have siblings born in three countries - my parents eventually moved to Canada - Edmonton and Calgery and then retired in Santa Barbara, California.

I also spent time in much of Europe, the middle east and various other ports of call.

I was diagnosed with colon cancer in Boston - not a bad place to be sick - a hospital on every corner.

    Hello all!
My husband and I were both raised in Iowa and continue to stay where both of our families are. We enjoy the change of seasons, but we do get tired of winter before it is over! We love to travel to warmer climates.

I'm in Atlanta. A couple of years ago I posted a similar question in a thread called "SEX AND MONEY!!!" (I gave it that title because I really wanted to know where people were located and so I had to make sure they'd read the question). You can search it and see who all was posting back then and where they were located at the time. Many of the people who responded are still active on the forum.
