Da Vinci hysterectomy surgery

Hi Everyone...Meeting with the doc tomorrow to discuss my upcoming surgery and his nurse told me when she gave me a reminder call, that the doctor was thinking about doing this surgery for me. So I went right to the internet to see what I could about it. My question to all of you is ...have any of you had this type of surgery? From what I have read about it, it sounds like it would be a great thing instead of the regular "slash and poke". I will keep you guys posted. Hugs, Cindy

I read a post a few months on this surgery on the discussion group so you might search the discussion topics and see what is there. Saundra
Thanks, Saundra. Met with the doctor this past Friday. Will be doing this surgery the end of this month. He plans to take both ovaries and the uterus out. Of course if this is not manageable, he will do the cut method. My CA-125 was 19...he said under 20 was good, so I am just about making it under 20. The cyst I have is complex, about the size of a grapefruit. The doctor thought on the manual that it was my uterus that was enlarged, here it is the cyst. I am hoping that this turns out okay. I know that not all cysts lead to ovarian cancer. But my Mom had it, as I had originally been on this board two years ago, and I have just been through breast cancer. So I am on that board also. I have learned much from all of you ladies. I am hoping for the best for all of us, hugs, Cindy0 -
Way to go
Hey Cindy, with all the information you given us, this sounds like the way to go. Glad your ca125 is low and it does sound like a large cyst. The Dr sounds like he is taking no prcautions with your's and your mom's cancer history. Prayers for a speedy recovery. Hugs Bonnie0
