I have been concacted by the public relations department of the ACS asking me to be interviewed by a major men's health magazine who is doing an artical on breast cancer in men. What an honour to be picked for this priveledge.
They will call between 11 and 12 tomorrow for the phone interview. I'm going to ask them for 5 billion dollars for my story but I don't think that they are paying anything.... Oh well...It will be fun or I will try to make it fun. I'll be sure to let you know how it goes.
Have to go in AM for Leunlasta shot. Interview to follow.

    Wow, that is a previledge. Good luck on that billion dollars, never hurts to ask!

    Congrats and whooo ooo! LOL! I too was interviewed for a sister magazine of Prevention along with a fellow CSN member ( OhioGirl) and other survivors for an article called "YOU HAVE CANCER". Catchy, huh? Makes you wanna sign right up! LOL We were all insightful and upbeat and honest. But oh well, no money was forthcoming dammit! Only a few accolades from those who knew we were in print!!! Humility is a difficult pill to swallow! LOL

    Not such a great thing. This was a freelance reporter trying to put together a story and sell it to "Mens Health" mag. She didn't ask enough questions and the questions that she did ask were very basic information. I volunteered alot of information that would have taken her months to uncover at the rate that she is going with this.
    If she ever actually gets her story published it might be an interesting read but she has a long way to go.

    Hey, maybe you taught her some "probing reporter" lessons?? That alone should be worth a couple billion!

    Why do you go somewhere to get your Neulasta? Is that the way your insurance will pay? I give my own. It's a VERY short needle, like a diabetics, and very little med. inside--so it goes fast. With everything you've been thru, it's really small potaoes!

    Hope your birthday isn't small potatoes!

    Wow NorcalJ~ the things I learn on this board! I too had Neulasta ; and it was never even suggested that this was an injection I could have done myself! It was a 60 miles drive (round-trip) to my cancer center, and I would have LOVED not having had to do that! Thankfully, the injection was given only once every 3 weeks....

    How did you think to even ask about that? Or did your Dr make that option available to you? Just wondering!

    Neulasta shot. For me it is only 10 mile round trip - cost me $20. copay. Never knew that it was an option to shoot myself.

    Kaiser insisted I learn how to shoot myself but I just took the shot over to a friend's house who was a nurse and she did it. BTW, Bill, did you know those shots cost about 6 grand a piece (Kaiser estimate)? That is why I didn't do myself. It is bad enough spilling a glass of wine, I didn't want to spill a fortune if I did a bad job with the shot. Joyce
