Going crazy with worry

Ok everyone will probably think I am crazy and I will not disagree. I have had 4 rounds ac and 2 rounds taxotere 2 more to go. In the last week I have had this ache in my ribs on the same side as cancer it feels like I have a huge bruise there but there is nothing, I haven't bumped it or anything that could of hurt it. So of course I think the worse what if the chemo is not working and it has spread to my ribs. How likely is this to happen? I see dr on monday for chemo so I am going to ask him about it but I am so worried that it is the worst case scenario. If everyone thinks I am just crazy feel free to tell me so but I just needed some feedback about it. Thanks

    Of course you are going to worry. You are probably fine, just try to relax a little till Monday. Your feelings are normal. I'm a 10 year survivor and it took years for me to stop the worry. Joanie

    My doctor told me that the taxotere might possible cause aches in the bones, muscles and joints - its probably just a side affect. Try not to worry - have you taken any tylenol or Aleve to help with the pain? Call your doctors office - they are supposed to be available 24/7 - it will set your mind at ease and you wont spend the weekend in a tizzy. Good luck and hugs to you.

    Be sure to ask on Monday. If you were having rads, THAT would explain it immediately. Did you have a lumpectomy? Were nodes removed? I did, and about 2 months after surgery, I reached for something and had a resulting pain that lasted a whole week.

    But yes, ask....your oncologist is your best resource...

    If you are having neulasta shots, they cause bone pain also. I will tell you that when I was having chemo I thought I had arm mets due to what turned out to be a chemo burn in the vein. We all hate these worries that we get, but the sillier the better in one way. Each time we worry and find out it is nothing...we get good news. That good news goes a long way in rebuilding our trust. So check out everything. Get lots of good news. Its part of the healing process. love, Joyce

    If you are having neulasta shots, they cause bone pain also. I will tell you that when I was having chemo I thought I had arm mets due to what turned out to be a chemo burn in the vein. We all hate these worries that we get, but the sillier the better in one way. Each time we worry and find out it is nothing...we get good news. That good news goes a long way in rebuilding our trust.     I had the same exact thing, and I too was convinced it was the cancer. Turns out it was Mondor's disease. It is inflammation of a blood vessel in the chest area. It is very rare and usually only happens due to breast surgery(cancer or enhancement). My vein actually sticks out-it looks like a rope just under the skin and runs vertically down towards my abdomen. My surgeon told me to take advil to reduce the inflammation. No one knows why it occurs and it almost NEVER recurs. But thanks to my luck, it has recurred more than once for me. But I have been reassured that it is harmless. Ask your surgeon.

    I agree with the other ladies: a)You are NOT crazy. b)ask your Dr. c)probably your pain is not cancer, but one of the things the other ladies have said.

I was on a cocktail containing taxotere and having neulasta shots as well...NO METS TO THE BONES!!! As tough as we may be, lots of our parts are fragile, and certainly react to the onslaught of poisons being used to kill the beast! I am sure that asking your Dr will do much to set you heart at ease, and hopefully the responses you have gotten here will have helped too!

    When you come here you get lots and lots of cyber hugs. Some of them are really tight long hugs from friends who love you..That could cause some rib pain.Wait till Monday and see what the Dr says...... And here comes a really BIG bear hug.
