please i need advise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi semi's,
well today i had a stressful day with my boss.
i have an employee that is starting trouble for me.
i work for walgreens drugs. my asst is not doing her job and is underminding my store. in the past she has gone back to the employees and told them what was being discussed. i have written her up for not following company lps issues and know she is claiming harassment because she is pregenant. i have not done anything to harass her but she called corp and made a complaint against me. my boss comes in today with a lps super and was telling me about numerous complaints of me yelling and screaming to my asst's, which i don;t do. i kept telling them that it wasn;t true and they both didn't care. he told me i had a problem working with women. i an a 20 year employee and have worked with plenty of women and never had a problem. needless to say i was upset. the other day my other asst whom is a woman told them that i yelled at her for emailing my boss. i did discuss it with her but never yelled. i asked my boss and lps how can i protect myself against further bogas claims and they said be carefull and have a witness. i told them i can;t run a store this way. i am in the office daily just myself and the female asst;s. how do i protect myself. i told them to put cameras and speakers in the office and they said no.
what if 1 day they say i tried to touch them, not good.
in 20 years never had any problems, only now due to the fact i am being retaliated against for giving discipline.
sorry guys just had to vent. looks like my boss can finally get rid of me. any advise family

    Hi Bruce,
    I feel for you. I had a horrible partner at work last year (I am a forest ranger) who yelled at me and acted like a total passive agressive a_hole. Anyway, he was also a bully. You know, the kind that suck up to all of the superiors so that no one knows that they are an a_hole, meanwhile harassing their "victim", in this case me. I went to my supervisor but she just blew it off as me "having a problem getting along with people". She even went to her boss, and his boss as well. No one ever addressed the actual problem. What I did was I started to write down in chronological order everything I could think of that he had done. I also started writing down everything he did from that point on. Not only was he a jerk to me, but he was a poor employee. At the end of the season I told my boss I didn't think she should hire him back, but she still was going to anyway. Meanwhile I started looking for other jobs. In February I had to have this awful meeting with everyone in the chain of command while they all sat there and said how I was difficult to work with and I was condescending, etc. etc. It was such a load of crap I could hardly belive it! Then apparently he (the guy) also had a similar meeting where he apparently started crying and saying that he could not bear to come back if I was going to still be working there (even if we had different partners). Anyway, in the end it worked out and he did not come back. This year everything is great, so yay...I think these things have a way of working out. I just don't understand why we have to go through all this BS! Especially after everything we have been through already!
    I know I didn't really give you any advice, but you should document all of these things from now on and try to remember everything that has happened with this employee and write it down. Then give a copy of it to your boss. I think she will have no choice but to address it. You could even get one of those little tape recorders if you have to.
    I know it sucks, I have been a wilderness ranger for 10 years and this **** wipe who had only been working there one season comes in and tries to get me fired and undermine me! I say, fight back with all you are worth, but try to stay calm, smile and nod. Soon enough the problem lady will have her baby, and then hopefully she'll be gone.

    In my store whenever someone acts up, I am the administrative assisant, I take it to the lead manager and the department manager and then both of them need to write a written complaint and the employee must sign it. We have "written" verbal warnings (so it is documented) and then after so many of them where is a wrtitten warning and then after a few of them there is termination. Document everything in an e-mail to yourself then you will have records. Good advice to have a management person in on discussions. Some people can just be a__ holes for no good reason. She wants you to fire her so she can be on unemployment after having this baby instead of disability. She'll get paid more. Good luck you.

    My Mother is going through a very similar situation with one of her employees who is apparently the "union police". She reports my Mother and files a complaint against her every time she gets written up for something. She is a big trouble maker, and is obviously trying to get my Mother fired. I agree that you should get a voice activated tape recorder, or have someone else in the room with you every time you're with her. Make it simple, and try not to stress out about it. Madre mentioned that the girl will leave for maternity leave, so then you can have peace again. I also agree that she is probably trying to get fired, so don't fall into it. My Mother never talks to her "problem" alone, and the complaints have lessened.

    How about keeping a small tape recorder in your desk?

    Bruce, I dont'have a lot of great advice-but just wanted to add that you have to assume that corporate will not be any help. You have to develop a teflon attitude-sounds difficult, but it's not really. Don't let anyone know that you are bothered...address problems quickly and painlessly...and then don't worry about them. Don't spend too much time wondering why nice people get screwed...we just do. However, act like you are not too troubled by anything, and things go better. Been there and done that in my line of work. Meanwhile, remind yourself that even your worst day at work beats a day of cancer treatment any day! Corporate retail has no soul....just survive in it and don't worry too much! Get their money but don't give them your soul!! Keep SURTHRIVING!!!!
