Lymphadonopathy

Well, it wasn't quite the news I exptectd. I had my 3.5 yr follow-up with the oncologist today. Brief hx: diagnosed with stage 2a colon ca 12/04. Had laprascopic right hemicolectomy and regular follow up visits. No chemo. At the 3 yr visit I was told everything was great. Today I happened to mention some intermittent pain under my arm pits. A quick exam revealed swollen lymph nodes. They're scheduling a CT scan. The oncologist said he did not think it was anything serious, but just the mention of possibly malagnancies was a sharp slap of reality just when I thought all would be ok.

Can't really say to much medically, but I don't think that is a common place to have mets from colon cancer. All the best.

At least you were at the onc and did mention it and they are checking it out. You will find an answer to the soreness and be able to stop the worrying. Be sure to let us know what you find out. I'll keep you in my prayers.

I know you must be on high alert now. It's impossible not to be, right? I'll be praying that you get a wonderful result from the ct scan. Hope it's all a big bunch of nothing!

    Hi Howard,
I can only imagine how you are feeling right now. But, there are many reasons why lymph nodes might be swollen, right? It's good that you mentioned the pain, it's good that they are checking it out. Let's hope it will simply put everyone's fears to rest. "Feed the faith, starve the fear". Please do let us know. Till then, sending positive wishes your way. Tara

    Hi Howard,

I want to add my good vibes to the others. I'm glad you are getting this checked and here is to hoping it is something mundane and not the dragon rearing it's ugly head. The hardest part about being survivors is that every little issue we first think the worst. HUGS.

    Hi Howard ~

Sending you good thoughts and prayers for good results for your upcoming CT scan. Let us know what you find out.

After being diagnosed with cancer, many of us hear from our doctors time and again something like..."hmmm...because of your history, we should check it out." CT scans get ordered, blood tests are done, we get put through that wringer of tests and waiting again. It's good though, to know your doctors are paying attention.

For you I'm hoping its something other than what we all fear....
