Hi everyone,
I was diagnosed 4.5 years ago with Stage II/B colon cancer. Only had surgery no chemo. It has been quite a journey since then and I found this site right after my diagnosis. You guys encouraged me, helped educate me, and understood me. As I was reading earlier, I saw where someone said us "old timers" should post and encourage you newbies. I agree and apologize for not being on here more to do just that.

I keep so many of you in my prayers and we have lost some true friends on this site, (nettie for one) but there are so many more that I have loved hearing about...emily, kathi, kay, spongebob, limey, etc. Thanks to all of you for your voices, stories and experiences. They helped me and I know they help others just as much.
Love and prayers to you all

Nice to hear from you, I am one of the newbies and it is great to know we have access to those of you who "have been there done that."

I agree. All of you were so much a part of my healing that I feel ashamed not to be here as much for the "newbies." I still lurk and read about once a week, but don't post much anymore.

Interestingly enough, one of my neighbors who was very delicate about "my condition" has now been dx'd with Stage IV. He is doing well, so far, and is no longer as delicate in referring to "our condition." Again, the education route is so very difficult because people just don't want to talk about colons and rectums. Anyway, I advised him to visit here because everyone is there and/or doing that or has been there and done that. I also told him that he is now an official semi-colon, which he found hysterically funny. It was good to make him laugh.

    Hi franny!

Nice to see you here again! It's only natural for life to go on when the immediate crisis is over. Some of us just hang on like Pit Bulls to nag about diet and lifestyle changes hoping beyond hope that someone will benefit.....haha!

When I started posting it was just ron50 and me. It was pretty quiet. Suddenly there was SpongeBob and Stacy and Barb and Lisa Rose and scouty and then the party started and more joined in. It's always nice to see old timers coming back to say "hey".

    Keep on truckin'!

    peace, emily
