Chris - so good of you to share that with us. I too am on a caring bridge site. You'd use the same www.caringbridge.org/visit/kristinerivas to view mine. I complete agree about being humble when you see how many people are willing to help. I have the most amazing set of friends that have been a godsend to me the past 9 months. On March 2nd they held a benefit for me and raised almost $9,000 that can be used for all medical expenses. It was overwhelming to walk in and see what they had done and for me no less. There are some good things that come out of a cancer diagnosis. Meeting people on this website, watching what goes on around you - for you, and just seeing first hand what good people are still out there in this big world.
I hope Linda is doing well. Can we have an update? I think of you often. Take good care.

What an amazing group of people you are. Kris we love hearing about how your friends have pitched in. My Linda is back teaching preschool (and fighting off the requisite and occasional bug from the kids) and enjoyed her first glass of wine in months when we went downtown with friends to a play in Chicago. Her hair's still thin and wispy from treatment, but she tries not to let it bother her. She's a tough, stubborn woman in many ways. And I guess that helps her through. But she's also sweet and loved by so many with whom she comes in contact. I guess we're all contradictions in some way. I've learned not to expect to be perfect. Just try to help, be patient, and do the dishes so they don't stink up the kitchen when a chemo patient is living in the house. Ha!0 -
