ct/pet scan update.

Hi all, it has been a while for me posting but wanted to send an update. quick history. Feb 2004 stage II CC had resection and all great. re-occurance one year later. stage IV spread to my Peritoneum. I am currently on my 5th go at chemo. Further surgeries are no longer an option. I had my CT pet scan today and not great news but not horrible either. The re-occurance keeps coming back in the original area tumor was found. This has been the biggest growth area. Currently the tumor has shrunk slightly and some other questionable areas are no longer lighting up. so at worst the chemo is stopping any new spread.

This is a tough challange we all have been given and sometimes it seems to get the best of us. I am very tired as of recent but certainly not to tired to fight.

    I was wondering about you just the other day! I'm so glad you posted an update. As you said, it's not horrible either!

    I am happy to hear that the chemo is helping to stop any new growth. You are right, this disease wears us down at times, but I am very excited to read that you are not too tired to fight..Hugs to you, Audrey.

    I'm glad that nothing is spreading and I only hope for a full recovery for you. Hope all is going well on the home front and I can't wait to see you in San Fran this year.

    I'm so glad you posted. I've been thinking about you. I'm happy to hear that the chemo is stopping further spread and sorry to hear that you are tired. Fighting cancer can be exhausting.

    Hi Mark: Stability and no new growth is great news. The tired part is really a downer. I've taken a few weeks chemo break just to get some energy back. I'm happy to hear that you are not tired of fighting. I just saw a news report from Argentina that they are doing phase 3 clinical trials on a drug/vaccine that is supposed to put a break on mets in advanced cancers. They are hoping to make cancer a chronic disease. You just keep yourself strong and fighting and I know that there is an answer around the corner. Have patience and faith!!! Monica

    Glad to hear from you and the information that your cancer is taking a step backwards. I pray for you everyday and think about your boys, wondering how they are.
    I look forward to SF in Oct. and hope you are feeling less tired by then. There has to be a cure for this disease soon.

    Mark, glad to hear it is not getting worse but unfortunate that you are tired. This cold weather doesn't help that either. We know you are going to keep up the fight. The longer we go the better the chance that something else will be found that works. As CanadaSue mentioned, did any of the doctors look at whether or not the Sugarbaker surgical protocol could be used?
