getting through chemo
I know this is all true because even though I hate it, I cry, and I pout sometimes, I am strong and wonderful and I will get through it. And since you are reading this, neither one of us is alone. My love to you.

Hey JL,
All your emotions are very healthy. If you didn't have them then I would be very concerned. Crying, anger, pouting, just plain ticked off is great. It is very frightening and frustrating to go through chemo. I know from chatting that you are doing great and there are ups and downs. Writing will definitely help you and others that read this. Just writing to you helps heal me. I was told to get 2 dozen eggs and throw them at a tree to get the frustration out. I hate to waste food so I just scrambled the h#*$ out of them then ate them...I changed my thoughts sometimes when instead of thinking what the chemo was doing and what it actually was to it being liquid gold with star burst zapping anything dark. It glowed in my veins and finding anything dark. I closed my eyes and actually would take my mine down every inch of my body and say zap, zap, zapzap. It helped me sometimes. I love gardens and got some magazines. When a friend would ask if I needed anything, I'd ask, "Do you have any good magazines you have finished." I am soooo proud that you share with us..me. I am strong but even sometimes I strongly cry. I call it my "pity pot" and sometimes it feels good to just sit a spell. Take care, we are here, I am here, you make a difference. Angela0 -
hey, Angela! You sure made me laugh out loud. And it was liquid starbust gold! I will remember you all my life, every time I scramble eggs...survivor51 said:Hey JL,

I liked your visualization. It was a strong and peaceful visualization. Not like just little pacman warriors battling which I tried but just made me feel more like a wasted field of battle strewn with corpses. Your creativity with it made me think how great women are, not wasting eggs but scrambling them (and still with a mighty hand). Thank you. I wish you many flowers in your garden!

And I will check in to see how you are doing with it, so please write. And I will give you anything I have learned to make it easier (or funnier, didn't the scrambled eggs from Angela "crack" you up?) Thanks for writing me,mgm42 said:Joyce, I will be joining you shortly. I believe I start my chemo next week. I will keep your words in my mind. WE ARE STRONG AND TOGETHER, SHARING THE EXPERIENCE, EVEN STRONGER. Love to you. Marilynn

talking about visualization...I used guided imagery with Belleruth Naperstak. She has some wonderful ones. you can chk them out at www. healthyjourneys.com. I swear by them..My aunt gave me one for cancer when I was dx 4 yrs ago and I have purchased others from there. There are lots to choose from.unknown said:hey, Angela! Thanks for the tip. I found the website to order the tapes at Healthliving. Her name was spelled Naparstek. Looks like they would be very helpful. Its not like there is a lot else to do through the 6 hour taxol/herceptin treatments!babs49242 said:talking about visualization...I used guided imagery with Belleruth Naperstak. Truth is....I seen that "red devil" comin down the tube and thought of it as the "blood of Jesus" cleansing me thru and thru, my faith got me through and I prayed during chemo that the Lord would heal me with the drugs man created.
It's good to have this place to come to for sure and share what we are going through....we are blesed!
Have a great day ladies and chat soon...0
