I have pet scan issues! :)

(As always :)

I'm trying to research pet scans and pet scan results as best I can on the internet but I'm having trouble figuring this out: does asthma light up on a pet-scan?!

My father has dust allergies with asthma symptoms from time to time.
He was perscribed a puffer (just in case)
At the hospital he was taking the puffer at times because he was reacting to the freshly washed bedding.

I know that they use a pet scan to determing asthma and that a puffer should not be used 4 hours prior to the pet-scan - so wouldn't the asthma and the puffer give them a false reading?!?

I would certainly pose that question to your dad's doctor. Some things on PET's can give false readings. It certainly would do no harm in asking. Good luck and keep us posted. God Bless,
