That is good news, Leslie!!! We all wait for the time when our appointments and tests are fewer, and longer in between. Our doctors know that if something comes up we'll call them. And your doctor is obviously confident that you are in the clear! Congratulations - another milestone!!

Yes, we all wait for the time when our appointments and tests are fewer and longer in between, and I can't believe that I am at 6 months already...boy the time sure flies when your having fun!!!! It seems like yesterday that I was dx, and starting treatment. Although I received good news from my doctor today, I also found out that she is leaving and moving back to New York to be with her family, and I was a little upset, I trust this doctor with my life, it will be very hard if and when she does leave. How do I trust someone new? I am a little scared about that! I am hoping that she changes her mind and decides to stay, but I do understand her wanting to be around her family, it will definately be a period of adjustment for me as well as her other patients.
Hope you are having a Wonderful Day and I will chat with you soon!

Thank-you Jenna, it is truly a blessing, and yet at the same time I'm a little reserved about it, you want so bad to have your follow-ups less and less but at the same time I feel a little scared cuz I am not being watched as closely, but I know in my heart of hearts that I "WILL" be okay!!!unknown said:Congratulations!!! that is wonderful news! Congrats on the promotion, Leslie!!!
I remember how exited I was when my gyn/onc told me recently that I only needed to see him once every 3 months. But, I can imagine how you would have a twing of fear mixed in as well. There certainly is comfort in being closely monitored. It's unfortunate that you may loose your current doctor. My hubby and I have been lookin into the possibility of relocating from Los Angeles to Oregon before I got diagnosed. Now, I'm reluctant to leave my gyn/onc behind and have to rely on a stranger who may not be as good, or care as much. I'm thinking I need to stay put for at least another year or two before being somewhat comfortable about moving away. I understand your concern, but I'm sure you'll find another good doctor! Perhaps the current one can recommend someone?

Thank-you Marianna, yep I am little nervous about the possibility of losing my oncologist, there is another oncologist at the same office, I just didn't like him as well, I am hoping that if/when she leaves they replace her with someone that I feel that I can trust and respect!!! I liked my doctor from day one, she was very blunt and to the point and I respected that and she cares so much about all of her patients!!!! My husband and I were thinking of relocating back to Arizona from Iowa,(we are orginally from Arizona) and I like you am very hesitant because of the fact of trying to find doctors whom I feel that I can trust!!!! These days finding a doctor is hard work!!! I have a feeling that my current doctor and University of Iowa Health Systems are under contract negotiations because they couldn't give me a exact time of when she was leaving, so maybe she will decide to stick around for awhile....I am hoping!!!! It will work out that way that it is suppose too!!!!curlee8661 said:Congrats on the promotion, Leslie!!!

Thank-you!!! I was pretty excited about it. I noticed that you are new to the webiste, and you stated that you are a 2 year survivor as well, and I was just wondering what stage you were at time of dx. I am new to this site too, I just signed up a couple of days ago, but so far I have met some really wonderful women, and I love being able to connect with people who know exactly what I have been through and know exactly how I am feeling!!! Welcome Aboard and I am looking forward to chatting with you soon!!!

Dear Leslie, welcome to the site and congratulations on the promotion. I can't even imagine that milestone after 10 months of appts., tests, treatments, etc. How did you ever get thru 2 years without this discussion group? ((HUGS)) and answered prayers. Saundra0

I am not really sure how I got thru the last 2 years without this discussion group...I wish I would have known about earlier....I do have the love and continued support from my husband and my 2 wonderful boys, but it is so nice to be able to relate to so many people and we all share a very special bond. I am so glad that I found this website now, and I hope that I can help other women and offer them alot of hope for the future.
Thank-you so much for replying to my post, and I look forward to chatting with you in the very near future.
