Prayer request for Young Survivor

I am requesting your prayers for an acquaintence from church. She is 38 years old and was diagnosed the end of August with stage 4 CC with liver mets when her baby was 3 months old. She began exhibiting symptoms while pregnant, but they wouldn't do anything until after the birth. Of course, because of her age they weren't thinking about colon cancer initially. She also has two teenagers from a previous marriage. She had a colon resection in September and immediately began chemo. She is incredible and was back at work full-time in four weeks. After completing chemo, she had a liver resection the week after Thanksgiving. She went back to work last week full-time and started chemo again (when I talked with her right after Christmas, she didn't know the chemo cocktail she would be receiving, but knew that it included Avastin). I just found out today that her new husband has lost his job for the second time since the baby was born. In spite of a really full plate, she is very upbeat and very strong in her faith. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Joy

Hi Joy,
She sounds like a trooper and is lucky to have you as a friend. Faith is the number one thing that has gotten me through this along with family, friends, and this forum. Praying her faith and positive attitude will get her through this. She will be in my thoughts and prayers. God is Good!

It sounds like she's doing well. She is lucky she was able to have the liver resection. Heres hoping she stays NED! That stinks about her husbands job, seems like when it rains it pours, but they'll get through it!

Your friend's story sounds a lot like mine. I was diagnosed at 27 with stage 4 colon cancer. I had a colon resection, and hysterectomy in sept 2007. Am currently doing chemo and will have a liver resection in Feb. I have 2 girls ages 2 and 4. I'm so sorry that her husband lost his job. God will take care of them, I am praying for their family.0
