High ALP on blood test?

Hi, I am stage III colorectal-had radiation, chemo, surgery, now am halfway through a six month FolFox round. I received a copy of my blood tests, and saw an ALP of 239, the normal range being 50-136. The doctor did not mention it to me. Of course, like a dork I looked up what a high level means on the net, and just got freaked out, as it can signify a liver tumor. Of course I'm calling him tomorrow. Anyone else have a high result?

Yes, my husband had high liver counts while taking Folfox. His counts were also in the 200 range. He was also taking Lipitor for high cholesterol at that time. After discontinuing that drug while he was on chemo it did go back down.

Chemo drugs are so powerful and can really upset the normal blood tests. Try not to worry about it, but do ask your doctor.

I wish you a new year full of happiness and good health!
