Some of you may have read my eariler post about allergies to the contrast for the CTscan. I was wondering about CT vs. PET vs. MRI. I went to see the oncologist this morning and she suggested an MRI this time followed by CTscan in 6 mo. and switch them out so that I didn't have to take so many steriods.
As an aside, she is flirting with the "C" word. After 2 years August 25 from stage iv, I'm still afraid to say or write the word cured. I won't get my CEA until tomorrow, but she thought everything looked good. YEAH!

    Hi Jo Ann,
That is great news that your doc is "flirting with the C word". That makes me feel really good because I am 3 years out from Stage IV. I still struggle terribly with anxiety and get totally freaked out when I read about someone taking a turn for the worse. However, my doctor says the vast majority of recurrences happen in the first 2 years. She also told me that eveything looks great. I only have to go back to her every six months for 2 more years, then she says she'll tell me to "Have a nice life". Can't wait for those magical words.
Well, take care and thanks for sharing!
