I have just obtained my PET report, before my Onc calls me. I'm not sure if I understand ,maybe you ladies can help. it said I have a focal area of abnormal hypermetabolic uptake along the posterior side of the liver. It sates this uptake has a value of 3.6 and is suspicious for metatastic disease. Thsi was the only area seen, so I also think I have a fairly good report as well. I was so scared it was gonna show cells everywhere...Thank God for good report news...So is anyone familar with this?? Thanks alot ladies...(((hugz)))..Joanne

Joanne - I do not have any experience with this as I'm still going through first round treatments, but will be interested to hear what you find out once you talk to your oncologist. I am sending thoughts & prayers to you that it is good news as you are thinking. Take good care. Kris0

Thanks Ladies!!!
I will be calling the Dr. today, just to see what he thinks. Like I think I have said I really don't want to start on chemo during the holidays anyway!!! He did say that we could always drain the fluid off me and test it as well if needed. Thanks again for all the prayers...(((hugz)))...Joanne0 -
Hope you have this question resolved soon. I've not had a PET scan so don't know about them, but each imaging system has it's pitfalls (i.e. CT's can't tell the difference between a fluid filled space and a solid tumor, MRI's can not tell the difference between scar tissue and tumor in the brain and I am sure PETs have their downfalls too). I think it's good there are not spots all over the abdomen, like you. Keep us posted and we will keep you in our prayers.0
