Novocaine with epi

I am trying to find out if a thcan can have novocaine with epineferine (sorry spelling).One support group I went to told me we could not, but Epi helps stop the bleeding and when we are slightly on the hyper side, we tend to bleed more. I am having a tooth extracted this week and not sure what to tell the dentist. Does anyone have information on this?
