my mom also got her results today, the oncologist said that some tumors grew and some shrunk, he didn't seem happy either way, he said he will give her a couple of more months treatment and do another cat scan to see if anything is happening and then he said if its not then we may want to consider stopping the treatment.....I am confused...right now my mom has been on Folfox and Avastin since September every 2 weeks treatment, before that she went through 6 months of Folfiri alone and no results.. what shall we do demand to continue the treatment??? even if there is some growth and shrunkage of tumors????? whats next????

I am not sure when your mother was DX or what stage cancer she has, but I would recommend getting second and third opinions on her case from organizations like, MD Anderson, Sloan-Kettering, John Hopkins, Mayo Clinic and even ask about clinical trails that are available.

I agree with the never give up attitude! If they aren't proposing another treatment plan if they stop this one, I'd definately get another opinion. The avastin might not have had enough time to do it's stuff though, so you still may see some better results on the next ct. Good luck and keeping your mom in my prayers.
