Hello all.... Recent CT scan shows that my Folfox6/Erbitux regiment is not working. My lung mets have spread and grown...bummer.

Guess I need to hit this hard (as if I haven't been). There have been many people asking about Cancer Treatment Centers of America. Well, I'm on my way and I will let you know what I learn. Leaving on Tuesday and may be there for approximately five days.

Have an appointment with Mayo September 13 - 14. It will be interesting to compare the two and decide which route I am going to take. The alternative route sounds more interesting and promising.

Any idea what my options are after the Folfox6/Erbitux regiment?

This journey just keeps getting more and more interesting.

Wish me luck!

My best to all of you.

    Hello,
I do wish you all the luck in the world. I will be anxiously awaiting what you think of Cancer Centers of America. I believe wholeheartedly in taking an integrative approach to your treatment. I think that many doctors are missing the big picture and it seems that the more specialized they are, the more they tend to get tunnel vision....
I hope you will find a solution to your dilema and start to see some real results.
    Best wishes,
    Susan H.

P.S. I do know of one man, here locally, who had Hodgkins lymphoma and is now in remission after getting treated at Cancer Centers in Oklahoma. He had nothing but good things to say. I know he completely changed his diet to macrobiotics. So, apparently, you have to be willing to do the hard work, but it's worth it.

    Ahoy!

Sounds like you are taking control and that's fantastic. I remember the one thing that I needed most when I was "sick" was to have some sense that my body was not controlling me; that it was the other way around.

I, too, have heard nothing but great things about the Cancer Centers of America. And, of course, the Mayo clinic is world famous - that's where they treat cancer by slathering you in mayonaise, right? I wish you the very best on your journey to healing. Don't let them use the low-fat mayo on you!

    Keeping you in my prayers.

SpongeBob! I haven't laughed that hard in a long time!!! Fantastic!!!

The thing that makes me pause is Zion, Illinois is the town I was raised in. I grew up blocks away from the little home town hospital which is now CTCA. I have lived in Minneapolis for 23 years.

Wouldn't it be ironic if Zion came through with an answer? Just like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz..."The next time I go looking for my heart's desire I'll look no further than my own back yard..."

    Thank you for the laugh!

Sorry to hear about your recent test results, but with your persistence I am sure you will get the best treatment available. I will be very curious to hear about the comparison between the Mayo and Cancer Treatment Center. My thoughts and prayers are with you in hopes that you find the answer and the best treatment to fight this. Keep us posted!

Wow... that's a trip. I know Zion. I lived in Chatham, IL for about 6 years as a kid. Maybe instead of that long drive from MN, you can just click the heels of your ruby slippers together whilst you say "There's no place like home"
