Meet a survivor

I have a friend who has ovarian cancer, currently in remission. She has never met an ovarian cancer survivor. Is there any way we can put her in touch with a support group or whatever so she can talk to someone. She lives in southern New Jersey.
Many thanks for any guidance you can provide.

Hi, Banjoman!
Can your friend get on this website? It would be wonderful for her. I'm not in New Jersey, so I suggest 'googling' support groups for your area. In the meantime, this is a great place to come to make new friends, get lots of support, suggestions, prayers and HUGS! Hope to hear from your friend soon!

Hi Banjoman
If you are looking for survivors you found the right place. She is welcome to email us - just click on the envelope icon and that will take you to the email. Also try the American Cancer Society website at cancer.org, gildasclub.org or ovarian-news.org. They are all great sites that can put you in touch with other resources. Good luck to your friend and have her come visit this site.

As Jamie said, on the ACS front page at www.cancer.org, there's a box in which you can enter a zip code to find the nearest location of the American Cancer Society; they'll be able to suggest support groups. Our local paper prints lists of support groups in our area, and our local cancer treatment center has listings, also. I first visited this wonderful group online, and joined a live support group later. They're both of immense value to me!0
