I don't want to belong to any club that would accept me as a member!!!
It occurs to me, that with this ever-growing family of BC survivors, that I should tell you a bit about myself. Just as bit though, because I have a web-page here on CSN! Do most of you? It is just a wonderful way of getting acquainted even more than we do in these threads. And it is EASY to do! We don't even have to come up with an autobiography~the questions are printed for us to answer as much or as little as we would like. And we can email one another here on the site, and have Friends selected, too!
So...my name is Claudia, I am 58, ( though my brain tells me I am 38) I wonder why I keep seeing my Mom when I look in the mirror (HELP!!) I live in California, and I am a 4.5 year Survivor. More about me on my web-page. just click User Directory on the rt side of the homepage, type in chenheart, and you will find me!
I would love to find you too...even though I never wanted this club to accept me! :-)
Hugs,
Claudia

Sweet-Onion Sue!
I just came back from Vegas last week~celebrated my 58th Birthday there! I checked your personal Web-page...you don't have one! LOL It only takes a few minutes (hint hint!)
Thanks for telling me something about yourself, Kindred Spirit! Makes me feel even closer to you as a Cancer Surviving Sister! :-)

I am Sharon. I am 39, act like I'm 5 and want to believe that I can be 21 forever. My breasts have told me otherwise! I was dx at 36 and you can find the rest of my oh so fun story on my web page.
I have to admit, it does irk me when a user comes on and I can't find a web page for them. I understand that anonymity for some is the reason they come on, but really, if you can find out so much about the others you are talking with, it would be nice to find out the bare facts about 'you'. Age, hometown, type of cancer, relationship status, kids etc. You don't have to post a picture (although I'm known to hound you relentlessly until you do!) but a little knowledge helps me feel a bit more connected.
Anyway... ya'll have a great day. I'm off to do fair and rodeo stuff.0 -

Hi All,
My name is Kim and I am 38 years old. I got dxed at age 34, so have been clear for a little over 3 years. Did lumpectomy, chemo, rads, and am now on our friend, Tamoxifin. Live in wet, hot Florida with husband and an 17-month old daughter who keeps me on my toes. BTW, the daughter is a little souvenier I recieved during a 6 month hiatus from Tamoxifin. Who knew?
I don't post often, but read all the time and chime in occaisionally. I'm grateful for this board and the wisdom and inspiration I receive on a daily basis.
oh, and I just completed my web page. Apologies -- it just never occurred to me that I should create one -- didn't know so many of you girls looked at them! You've made me honest!

YOU ROCK~ MY SISTERS!!!! I still wish none of us ever had to meet in any place that has the word Cancer attached to it, yet I am truly honored to know you. We are indeed smart, witty, strong, and brave, aren't we? Perhaps not all the time, but I think that's what I love about us the most. We are human, with fears, frustrations, and anxieties, coupled with the above mentioned strength. And the camaraderie in here, as well as in Chat is something beyond my wildest expectations. Thank you for being so responsive in here, and for making web-pages.
You all continue to inspire me.
Hugs,

I had a radical mastectomy in '86 (at age 38), 10 months of chemo, then in '88 same song second verse on other side, another radical, chemo, rads, then 7 years of tamoxifin.
All that started 21 years ago.....and TA DA...I am still around. It's a double whammy for sure but you can do it. There is life to be lived....this is just a temporary stall-out.
I did not have any reconstruction...got the prosthesis in all sizes.....lol This fits my lifestyle just fine and is not even an issue any more.0 -
