And the world is good....
As you all know, my last 3 years have been, to put it mildly, a bit of a challenge to my sanity. I actually left for Europe this summer worried that, like every other time for the last 4, something dreadful would happen while I was away. I even went so far as to tell my 84 year old mother that she COULD NOT die for at least another year...lol!
I woke up thankful for another day...each and every day while I was there. And despite KLM losing our luggage when we traveled to Prague (BTW...did you know you can exist on one pair of undies and a toothbrush for 2 days...as long as you have GOOD walking shoes?)...the world presented eye candy to me at every turn!
I stood where kings and queens stood. I ate in squares where long ago the only light was from fire in some form. I explored basements that used to store coal to keep the residents warm.
And the one, prevailing thing I noticed....because I wore a smile, I got MANY, MANY smiles back...(even from the Italians and the Czechs who must have thought I was just another crazy American...rofl).
Thank goodness, Prague was clean. I especially mean, bathroom-wise!!!! I had my moments, let me tell you...but the food was good...so I 'sinned' alot! And the payment was worth it! (They have these little bowl brushes...hummm...TMI!).
So, as my sister's treatment comes to a close (things look good there), my daughter's death goes to the lawyers (they're claiming pneumonia), and my ex-hubby's cars are rusty away...well, I am writing this with a big smile...because I know my family here is a big part of my support system...and I feel blessed everyday to know you all!!!
Hugs, Kathi

Wow, I love your attitude. I don't know if you have always been this kind of person---so very thankful. I know cancer has done that to us. Even when things are not going so well, we can still find a lot to be thankful for! Sounds like you had a great trip and enjoyed every minute of it. My husband and I love to travel and hope to get moving again soon.
Thanks for sharing. You make me smile. Thank You!

Hola Kathi, mi amiga de California! (Sorry Bob, Betina, and Alta if my Spanish grammar is rusty)...
You just brought tears to my eyes. Looking forward to seeing you in Nashville. My mom is joining us!!!! I can't wait for you and everyone to meet her. You will love her...a four time cancer survivor and a true inspiration to me in my fight and recovery.
I love your point that when you smile, the world smiles back - my mom being a world traveler knows much about this! I guess it's part of the universal language and it certainly applies here in our little group, eh?
Glad to hear sissy is doing well...she is lucky to have you.
