After 5 years of taking Arimidex, what is next?
Thanks to all who answer.

I am still on Arimidex. This is a good question. I do not know really know what will come next for me either. I have been on it since October or November 2003 sometime.
I have been told by my oncologist that there are trials being done to lengthen stay on this medication so he is hoping for the meds longevity. It is good medication for me inspite of side effects.

thanks for asking this question and also very interesting in some of the responses too.

Whew! After 5 years, I'm planning on flying without a net....

I had trouble with my bone density, so I am on Tamoxifen for 3 years, then will switch to Arimidex for 2 years...and then, well, nothing, I hope....
I am 52 years young, and had a total hysterectomy during my fight with colon cancer, so the amount of estrogen in my body is probably close to nothing, even without taking these drugs...

I feel like I am paying my dues for 5 years...cancer doesn't earn any more of my life than that, and if it returns, well, I'll fight the fight again...

    Hugs, Kathi
