I had a skull based chondrosarcoma surgically removed from behind my right ear in 1990. Another was diagnosed, growing in the same place, in 2000. Surgical removal is not an option second time around. Although only slow growing I have had two bleeds in the last 18 months, one into surrounding brain tissue, the other inside the tumour itself. They say the case is very rare and I am having trouble getting advice. Anyone out there have a similar problem, I would love to hear your advice or comments.

    Hello,

I encourage you to do a search of the CSN website by entering the key word "chondrosarcoma" in the search bar at the top of the site. You can then connect with others that may have a similar situation. For more information on all of the CSN functions, please click on the "Help" link at the top of this page.

    Take care and be well,

    CS active Military

    Hi,

My name is Mario Fialho.  I was diagnosed with Chondro sarcoma in September 2015.  Another freind of mine was diagnosed with the same cancer around the same time frame.  We worked together at the same bases doing the sdame work around different resources.  As you know CS is an extremely rare form of bone cancer and I think it might be service related.  I am hunting down other survivors that feel like they may have gotten it due to their military service.  Please reach out to me if thats you.  My contact information is here on the site.

Had chondrosarcoma hemi pelvectomy 2006 . Lost ilium right leg. would love to get dental implant but worry drilling into jawbone would activate the gene that might have caused it . Had large tumor right thigh and 3 inch gash in Ilium. It's now 2024 and still Kicking but PT every day and swimming to keep weight down since I cannot walk without aids.
