big day

Tomorrow is a big day for me and a major moving forward point in my life since cancer.
I was studying for the California Bar Exam when I was diagnosed last June. I was 24 yrs old. Stage IV rectal. I did chemo, chemoradiation, surgery, more chemo, and finally reversal surgery in April. Today I'm NED!
I've spent the past several months studying for the bar and the test starts tomorrow. It's a grueling three day exam. For many people in the room it will be the most difficult and important test of their life. But if I start to panic I will remember all that I've been through the past fourteen months and realize that this is just a test, and much easier than a CEA or CT.
I posted in June looking for help on dealing with post treatment emotions; fear, anxiety, etc. I am still dealing with all of that but it's been so nice to focus on something unrelated to cancer and to feel productive and normal.
Just wanted to share what I view as a big stepping stone for me. And for those recently diagnosed, I hope this offers some hope that the things you have to put on hold now can be yours again when you beat the beast!
If you feel inclined to send me good luck vibes for the exam, I could use them!

So...Remember...
Issue
Rule
Application
Conclusion
Read the call of the question first and underline the buzzwords.
You are right. It is only a test. I took it eight and a half months pregnant...I was totally calm because I told myself I had more important things to think about than this silly test. I think that helped me pass. So take a breath, stay calm, and go for it.
You Can Do this! GOOD LUCK!

I'll be sending you all the positive vibes I can. My husband took the Tennessee bar a few years ago and it was very stressful. With all that you have been through it will be a breeze.

Well, first of all....
YEA YEA YEA YEA YEA YEA YEA!!!!
NAKED HAPPY DANCE WITH NED!!!
Second, just like Lance Armstrong...he said when the going got tough during the uphill part...he reminded himself of all he had conquered, and how most of the rest of the field had never fought so long and so hard, and it gave him strength...
Good luck tomorrow!
Hugs, Kathi0 -
I'm sending you lots of good luck vibes, although I don't think you are going to need luck. You have already been through the biggest test of your life! I am so happy that you are moving on with your life. You deserve much success and happiness!!

You've already met the biggest challenge of your life.....this is just a test and also allows a "do-over", just in case. I'm sending you lots of vibes. Let the calm, happy, peaceful feeling of NED guide you through.
Good wishes coming your way.
