TPN Feeding Tube for Stage IV CC

TPN (total parenteral nutrition) bypasses the gi system by being delivered through the circulatory system. I haven't needed it yet, but have given it (many years ago) as a nurse. It provides carbs, protein, minerals and vitamins. Hopefully this will make her stronger so she can resume her chemo. I'll be keeping her in my thoughts and prayers.

Look back a page or so....a discussion on this was just started....
That said, I was on TPN during a bowel obstruction.
I also have a 'patient partner' (newly diagnosed stage IV, Oct 06) that had it for over 2 months. He had a nurse come to the house everyday to monitor, and replace the empty for a full bag.
He couldn't eat, either...he is alive and well today, and eating everything again!

Thank you so much for your message. I am new to this board so am still getting familiar with how to use it. Your message about TPN gave me some encouragement regarding my sister's nutrition. I appreciate your kindness. Peace to you.
