Don't know about the Ambrotose but I am currently on Avastin and will be for life. I did have colon surgery so can't speak to that but can tell you I have NO side effects from the Avastin at all. I go every 2 wks and it only takes about 1 1/2 hrs to get only the Avastin for me. Hope this helps.

I tried the Ambrotose BEFORE I got the Stage IV cancer. I think that it is a scam as it is sold on a pyramid scheme and I am leary of those. As for the Avastin, I have been on it along with 5 Fu, Oxaliplatin and Leuvoricane (sp.) for a year now. I am stage 4 with mets to the liver. Where has your cancer spread to? Why would you not have surgery to remove the primary cancer?0

I am not sure they said where it already spread to the liver( stage 4 colon cancer) there was no need to do surgery on the colon to put me through the surgery? that was 7 1/2 months ago.apache4 said:I tried the Ambrotose BEFORE I got the Stage IV cancer. Hi Wanda -
I am also curious / concerned why you haven't yet had surgery for the primary colon tumor. In my case, I would have been obstructed in 4 weeks or so, thus surgery was immediately necessary. Your situation is obviously different. But, removal of the primary tumor is normally the standard and given that you are having GI symptoms, surgery would help that. If I were you, I would consider a different doctor / second opinion. You can't take Avastin, however, within 6 weeks of surgery, so going for surgery would mean a cessation of the Avastin treatment.
I wish you the best.

Hi, don't know about the ambrotose, but hubby has avastin, along with oxal and xeloda. Seems to be shrinking the liver mets, but did develop a small blood clot , which the onc thinks the avastin caused. On a blood thinner now and doing ok. His primary tumor was removed however in the sigmoid colon. Have you gone for a second opinion regarding removing the primary? Good luck and God Bless.
