Up for a party????
With that stated, I'd like to remind you all of a little "soiree" we like to call COLON PALOOZA.
Each year, we plan a reunion to get a group of folks from here to meet in some location, usually for about 4 or 5 days. So far, these parties have taken place in Biloxi, Mississippi; Las Vegas, Nevada; Austin, Texas; and Halifax, Nova Scotia.
This is a time to meet folks from here that have given support, given a shoulder, or just given a laugh. The amount of people attending has ranged from 4 to 40. This year is proving to be the biggest one yet!
And what is MOST important, you ask??? THERE IS STILL TIME TO MAKE YOUR PLANS TO ATTEND!!!!
Here are the juicy details:
Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Dates: September 12 to September 16, 2007
I have arranged through the good folks at the Hilton Downtown Nashville a block of rooms for $ 159 per night. These rooms typically get reserved for $ 300 per night. Every room is a luxurious suite.
And don't worry, the area chosen is safe and the attractions are all within walking distance of the hotel. The itinerary is loaded with a ton of fun things to do.
So, if this is something you think you'd like to attend, all you need to do is the following:
Call the Hilton, downtown Nashville, 615-620-2150 or e-mail your request to sarah_spain@hilton.com. Explain you want to reserve your room which is in the block set aside for the SEMI COLONS, arranged by Stacy Gleason. We are staying at the Hilton, Downtown Nashville, TN. You can check out the hotel by cutting and pasting this link into your browser:
www.nashvillehilton.com
The big reception party is set for Thursday, Sept 13. A Haunted Tavern Tour set for Friday, Sept 14. Wild Horse Saloon line dancing lessons set for the evening of Friday, Sept 14. General Jackson Boat Tour & Lunch Saturday, Sept 15.
Plus, many more SURPRISES to be disclosed at the event.
I hope anyone looking for a great way to meet folks from here attends. It's probably one of the few benefits of getting cancer!
Hugs,
Stacy
P.S. There are 30 reserved for Colon Palooza 5 so far...growing by the minute!

Great itinary Stacy and how fun it all sounds. I laugh just thinking about it (FYI y'all, you laugh all the time at the Paloozas, you will not believe how fun they are). As we talked about, a trip to Neely's B-B-Q that we saw on The Food Network should also be worked in. It is less then 5 miles from our hotel!!!!
More later, my little pea brain is working non stop on all the cool stuff I can help you with since I will be driving and can fill up my lil SUV.
Hugs and more later, EL0 -

I've heard of Neely's. Beside seeing all of you, line dancing for the first time since the Hustle, and hearing good 'ole country music in the heart of country, this is one more thing to look forward to.
One thing I've learned this past year is having something to look forward to is good for the soul.
Can't wait to see y'all...
Thanks Stacy - for everything and for pulling this wonderful gathering together.0 -

I suspect the amount of Coors light you have has something to do with that constant laughing... not to mention dancing on the tables... and chasing naked guys down the hallway! OK... I guess he DID have a towel around himself...
(don't worry friends, Paloozas are only PG-13 rated. The stories behind those comments are the real reason for that laughter!)
Limey! Looking forward to seeing you there!!

Now, back to the dancing on tables and chasing naked guys....that sounds like a Palooza!
Seriously, I can't wait to see everyone. To those of you who will be Palooza first-timers, you will have more fun than you can imagine. Your heart will be warmed for a long, long time.

Still not sure if I am going to be able to make it. I live in Memphis (short 3 hour drive). I don't have anymore days off from work and I am afraid to ask for more. I also have tickets to go see Ohio State football game (go BUCKS!!!) that weekend. I'll have to see what happens. I would love to meet you all though.

Ugh...Sweetheart, I thought we made a deal that YOU would be the killer in our house.spongebob said:No, Daisy Mae, what you need are "Big Huge Crab-Lookin' Spider-thing Killers"!!

Thankfully, I think that beast's screaming whilst spinning in the Hoover Wind Tunnel scared off his comrades. I've had no other visitors - thank heavens!0 -
Uhmm... excuse me; I believe that's THE Ohio State. (I grew up in Cleveland)KierstenRx said:Still not sure if I am going to be able to make it. I live in Memphis (short 3 hour drive). We certainly missed you in Halifax. Talking to you on the phone wasn't the same as having you out on the field trips!
This year is going to top them all, I PROMISE!!!

It's okay, my dear husband - I promise not to tell my ENTIRE family what you just wrote! I want to be sure you will be invited to our family reunions and not get your very fine butt kicked when circled by my clan. Love you!spongebob said:Uhmm... excuse me; I believe that's THE Ohio State. (I grew up in Cleveland)

I'd really like to see Nashville though!
Rob; in Vancouver
Even if you can't make the entire trip, try to cruise over for a few days. If you really, really can't, then 2008 it is!
Paloozas give us all something to look forward to!

Hi There
I would love to party with all of you but it is so late that you may just have to keep me posted on next years party.
I'am a survivor of stage three colon cancer and with my diagnosis, transfusions, surgery and treatment my husband and I are raising our two youngest grandchildren.
I reached my first year( and 3 months) of survival after treatment.
So I'm here to tell you that I'm still going and going and feel so blessed to be here to celebrate life and live life after cancer.
Everybody have a great and memorable time and I hope to hear from. With Love & Laughter ddwolfe.0
